Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closure in Nov?

I tweeted Disneyland today and they advised it will be closed temporarily but would not give an end date but given its the week before thanksgiving I doubt it would be a long refurb cos of the crowds involved with thanksgiving well I hope so its my favourite ride and the first stepping stone on my sons journey to riding the bigger rides now hes tall enough to ride them all

I am watching the calendar closely as I arrive Nov 17 and go home Nov 30

We are watching closely too. It was down the whole of our last trip due to the major refurb and we are really excited to see it after the new effects have been added. I'm hoping it's just a few days or so. We arrive 17th November and are flying back to Australia on the 3rd December. Hoping it comes back, even it's just our last day!

It's still on the closure list for 11/18 :( . I haven't been brave enough to tell my kids yet . . . I think I'll wait and see what happens as we get closer.

Where are you flying in from? Im coming from Sydney

I'm sad about this one! Coming for a fun trip with just DH on the 18th-20th. Haven't been on BTMRR for 5 years due to refurbs. Timed another refurb just right apparently.

Delete, thought it was WDW not DLR. somehow I end d up in the wrong forum, my bad

Anyone else check out the calendar for the week of the 15th? Looks like BTMRR is off the refurb list!!!!

I was just looking through the daily calendar and noticed that as well. I think we'll still make sure to ride it a few times the first few days we're there, just in case it still happens. :)

You have to figure that the path between BTMRR to FL will be closed at some point once the SW construction starts. It would probably make sense to delay any BTMRR refurb until a time when the rest of the area is closed anyway.

The entrance to the ride is before the path. The biggest issue will be the exits including the handicap area. However, they can use walls and create a narrow walkway if needed. It's still before the actual Thunder Ranch area, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal. I don't expect the coaster to be down for a big chunk of time for the Star Wars stuff. It wasn't listed as one of the attractions closing for a year plus.

But they could still be waiting to do the refurb at a time when the path is closed. It doesn't have to be closed the whole time. The path might not be closed the entire time. DL frequently swaps refurbs.
