Disney Cruise web Site

I'm finally seeing the new site. I like the overall look and the ability to book multiple rooms. I miss the menus.

Most of the menus are still there. Cruises & Destinations; Ships & Staterooms; and Things to Do are all pull down menus at the top.

Weird... I was able to get to the newer website last week, but today I am back to the old site on my work computer in all three browsers. I work in IT, yes I have cleared everything possible. :p

Oh yikes. I will be so annoyed if I have to call to book a particular room! A lot of the reason I like to do my own reservations is so I can manage these things myself when it's convenient. If I have to depend on someone in a call center, that takes away a lot of my autonomy. Ugh. Have to figure out how to get to the old site!

I was able to see specific rooms today. It was a graphic and they were shown in different colors to indicate availability.
But the issue is that they aren't showing all available rooms. And there's (apparently) no option to select a specific room to see if it's available, unlike on the old site.

And I am still unable to access my placeholder reservation online.... Was hoping to avoid waiting in the phone queues....

They really aren't showing all available rooms. I have an OBB placeholder, and I can access the old site by changing or modifying my cruise. I get more room availability on the old site then if I try to book the cruise through the new site.

Ugh.

But as I was checking out different random rooms on a dummy reservation, I got an "error" message saying they couldn't select my room at this time. After that there was a site down message. Guessing some IT folks may not get much sleep tonight....

At first glance, I LOVE IT. The old site was so cumbersome for initial vacation decisions. I just want to know if there are any cruises coming up that I can afford! The new site let me enter party size (2A3K) and pulled up 270 results in one list with prices. When 2017 itineraries come up in two days, if I see anything longer than 4 nights under my $ threshold, I'm booking. Exactly what I needed. It looks like the WDW and DLR webpages now.
Granted I have not tried to follow through on booking anything yet, but I will let my travel agent deal with that. Hopefully they are still working on those details!

I haven't checked DCL's site in a while...a month, maybe? I went to check on something tonight and noticed the new site for the first time, even though I recall seeing the announcement for it a while ago. I didn't realize it was THIS new. I thought it's been out for a while and I just hadn't seen it because I haven't checked. I have noticed it looks a lot more like WDW's MDE site so I can see them streamlining it to look similar.

Tonight I tried to do a fake booking on the new sight and discovered that they don't allow you to pick a dining option, book transportation, select air travel or insurance.

They have a lot of work to do on this site.

Ditto. I noticed the same thing. I was poking around the site, making a dummy booking to check prices when I noticed something: I could no longer make requests like main/second dining, and I couldn't add on Disney transportation. I was signed in and went all the way to the point of payment info. It allowed me to agree or decline trip insurance, but that was the only option. You can't just select your dining option, and add transportation at the time of booking, it seems. Or am I missing something? So now, you have to book it then call DCL to make those modifications and additions? That seems like a waste of time. My hope is that it's still in the works, and they are not finished yet.

Regarding dinner seating, etc., once you have a reservation, you are able to go in and set your preferences. So at least a phone call won't necessarily be required for that. It just doesn't seem to let you do it during the initial process.

Exactly. They now present us with their choice of 8 available cabins, same as on the old site, BUT on the old site we had the option of entering a specific cabin number of our choice that they were not showing us, to check for availability. Without that option, I would never book online again because I have my favorite staterooms that I don't think they have ever shown in the 8 they offer, even though they have always been available when I book far enough ahead and deliberately selected them. So for me, the new site is useless for online booking, and I can no longer access the old site. :(

I just debunked the clear cache and cookies bit...I went to check my reservation and started out with the 'old' page. When I logged out I was directed to the 'new' page. It seems like they're adding more people to the list for admission to the new page...
Clearing cookies gave me the old website two nights ago, but last night I was getting the new website on all of my browsers no matter what I did. (Actually I would get a glimpse of the old website, then the new website would automatically load.)
