Via Napoli, Teppan Edo, or Chefs de France?

Getting ready to make ADRs for the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. Planning to have some friends with us who have never been to WDW.

Based on type of food interest, we have narrowed it down to Via Napoli, Teppan Edo, and Chefs de France.

I have never been to any of them.

Which one might be more special or interesting for WDW newbies (who may never be back again)?

Also, will there be special dining events during F&G?

Is there a particular time to avoid a dining ressie (based on showtimes, events, etc.)? We have never been to F&G, and I know there are some concerts, but Epcot has not released the schedule yet.

Thanks for the help and advice!

I've never eaten at Via Napoli but I love Teppan Edo and Chefs de France. You can find hibachi restaurants anywhere so while it's good, I'd lean more towards Chefs de France. Chefs de France has amazing food. I prefer the dinner menu over lunch. I'm sure whichever restaurant you choose it will be great.

I like them all, and being that you've never been to any I don't think you can make a bad choice. I think Via Napoli has some really great pizza, and not only for Walt Disney World. Teppan Edo has the show, but if you frequent teppanyaki restaurants it may not be enough different to make it special - but if you don't. keep it on your list. And Chefs de France is a good combination of food and ambiance (assuming you like french food). I guess I would say look at the menus and see which one appeals to you most.

We were at F&G in 2014, and I don't remember any specific FG dining events. We love Via Napoli, but can't really comment since we haven't been to the other two. Reason is that we have hibachi restaurants at home, and haven't made Chefs a priority (But hope to one day :))

Ha ha! I've studied the menus. I could ace a test on the menus. :) It all sounds wonderful. Really thinking it might come down to unique atmosphere.

Good to know I won't go wrong with any of them.

I was getting ready to write a response but POTCfan has pretty muched summed up anything I'd say.
If you held me down and forced me to make a choice, I'd go with Chefs de France then doubt my decision right up till we go. After eating there, I'd be fine and plan to go to the other two the next time!

Chefs de France. We eat there every trip. Never had a bad meal and the service is excellent. We also like Teppan Edo but like others have said it is an hibachi restaurant which you can find most anywhere. Never ate at Via Napoli so can't comment.

You can find French restaurants most every where too. And Italian. I never understood that argument and it's most always used with Teppan Edo. In fact, as far as French restaurants go. Chefs is just ordinary really.

Never ate at Chefs so I'd pick that. Via would be last as their pizza is just so so. We don't even think it is best on property. We love Teppan but don't eat any hibachi in our home area. We still think their food is pretty good and it's always on our ADR.

I was thinking about that last night, too. I keep thinking, "What at Epcot can I NOT find around the city of Atlanta?" And I can't come up with anything.

I guess our lives are so cushy now that we are spoiled- not so much is new and unique to us any more. Most everything is Been There, Done That.

After lots of thought, I went with Chefs de France. It sounds very nice. Made our ADR this morning. Really looking forward to it.

It may not be a totally unique experience, but I imagine we will all really enjoy it.

Thanks for the help!

Ha! That is about where I was this morning. So I went with Chefs. Thanks for the help.

I will second guess it, too, like I do every planning decision I make. But hey, I still have about 6 months to change my mind. :-)

Great choice, Chefs de France is wonderful. The atmosphere really transports you to "France" as only Disney can. Enjoy your meal (and try the french onion soup if you can- delicious!).

Thanks! Always good to have support on my decisions since they are so hard to make.

I love the French onion at BOG. Since the one at CDF is more expensive, it has to be better, right? :snooty:
