A Couple of Knott's Questions

Does anyone know if the height measuring sticks at Knott's are consistent with those at Disneyland? DS finally made the coveted 48" height so that he could ride California Screamin' (and he proceeded to ride it 6 times!). So we know he's good to go at Disney, but are wondering if the measurements match up at Knott's.

Also, has anyone been on a Saturday recently? We went on MLK Day in January, and the lines were BRUTAL.

Thanks!

Haven't been to Knott's recently on a Saturday. We were there in Dec last year on a Friday and we spent a lot of time waiting to see if anyone else would show up so that we could ride the ride. There were very few people there.

As for the height measuring sticks, we went with two younger friends. One was going to be too short to ride the bigger rides and we went in knowing that. The other was just 48". She was able to ride all the rides she wanted to ride (but she's not a huge roller coaster fan... so she didn't try to ride the bigger coasters). My experience with the height sticks there are the same as at Disney. They seem to be fairly accurate (or at least the same from ride to ride). If you are interested in the height list, it is on Knott's website. But if your son is 48", he should be able to go on all of the rides except:

Silver Bullet
Supreme Scream
Xcelerator
Rip Tide

And Coast Rider unless he's accompanied by an adult.

Hope that helps and that you have a great time.

Thanks for the feedback. We are going to give it a try in a couple of weeks, I think. The Knott's height restrictions seem very high to me. Even very mild coasters, like Jaguar, require 48"...same for the swings, which have lower height restrictions at Disney as well as just about any carnival you visit. Hopefully, the measuring sticks are accurate!

We just went a few days ago. The measuring sticks are accurate and they are very strict. My son was less than half an inch too short for Silver Bullet and they wouldn't let him on. There is plenty for all heights to do. We have our three year old and nine year old (big age and height difference) and we all had fun. I am assuming Saturday's are crowded. We went last Monday and it was a ghost town.

Thanks so much for reporting back! We have been having problems because our DS(7) is short. So...he hasn't been able to ride the "big kid" rides (48"), and he's too old for the Camp Snoopy rides other than the Sierra Sidewinder. I know he's 48" because he easily hit the stick for California Screamin', and I know Disney is strict. So, hopefully, Knott's will work out for us this time.
