Solo Trip Complete... With Full Video Log!

It was because of this forum that inspired me to do a Solo Trip to WDW - and I must say it was completely amazing.

I did a full Vlog while I was there - so many fun things happened! If you're trying to figure out the benefits, hopefully my video will help you with your decision.

Everyone inspired me so now my job is to hopefully inspire others. Can't wait to go back!

Oh my God Jason. I'm only at the 4:52 mark and I'm so happy and so enjoying your vlog that Im in tears. Just shows me what I can look forward to. I too will be vlogging with a new camera. You video quality is great. What kind of camera are you using???

Loving it so far. Thanks for sharing!

Jason I finished it all. It was fantastic. I was living vicariously through you, looking forward to having the good time that I saw you having.

Question: Did you have another camera for stills along with your video camera... or did were you taking stills with your video camera? Also noticed you filming without you hands.. did you have special strap device??

Excellent. Glad you made it all the way through... I know it's long but if you skip or only watch half, you end up missing the good stuff!
I filmed everything with my GoPro and used a clip to secure it to my backpack strap... so it basically was up near my shoulder all day. Then I would take it off to film myself... and had the Character assistants hold it while I got pictures taken. The Characters section of the video was on my favorites to see them interact with me and the camera.

Any picture flash you saw was the Disney Photographers. I had Memory Maker so I used them for my pics and downloaded them when I got home.
Over all had about 15+ hours of video and picked the best 30 min (which is still a lot... but most comes from me interviewing/ vlogging myself)

Ah! I should have known it was a GoPro. Very nice. Yes, the vids of you and the characters were soo cute. You just looked like you were so enjoying yourself, and I can see myself with that same grin on my face. And guess what... My camera came to me today via the mail! Its a Samsung WB350F wifi. Not the worlds greatest but a good point and shoot that will allow me to snap six stills while filming video. I will start testing it today when I get home (it was delivered to my job).

Yes, it was so much fun watching the vid. Very surprised that others have not viewed it yet. I loved it. And what a motley bunch of women they were having you chug down that beer! ha ha! :drinking:

It was 1am in the morning when I was watching and I thought I was going to quit and come back to it later but I realized I just wanted to watch it all. Glad you had a great time!
 
Yea... times like that made me glad I was filming pretty much non-stop... because it caught moments like the bar for instance where EVERYONE ended up cheering me on to drink. Insane! Must have been 25 people or so and I don't know hardly any of them. Drinking the Beverly was great to capture. Ride videos, Characters, me getting soaked with a poncho on, etc

Definitely pays off to record more than what you need... that way you have chances to catch things on video you wouldn't expect to see or have happen.
Asking the CM's stupid questions and their reactions were priceless - another good video opportunity!

Have fun on your trip and you should post a video as well!

Kudos to all of you who made it all the way through... Wasn't sure if anyone would actually watch it. Did my best to keep it entertaining.

I figured this would be something everyone could relate to if they were either visiting for the first time and/or unsure about traveling solo.
Anyone who does solo trips should make vlogs and post them for us to watch! :)

I totally agree! we should all post! I will be posting a vlog after my first solo trip at the end of the month. I cant wait. Thanks for the inspiration! :goodvibes
 
Loved the monorail to Universal bit....that CM was all ready to send you there via the monorail!! Haha

Every time someone posts something with a GoPro, I get serious tech envy. I might have to invest!

So a note about that... I brought all of these accessories thinking I would change them and it ended up being too much of a hassle. Didn't need a tripod, grip or anything else.

All I used was the clip (seen on my backpack in the beginning) and that extended just enough to take off and hold everywhere. I used the waterproof back during the water rides - 4 batteries lasted me all day and - few memory cards was more than enough.

The character assistants were more than happy to hold my camera for me which was awesome.

Everyone, get a GoPro and make some vlogs!!! :)
