We will be renting points and doing DVC for the first time. We want to stay at the Poly and will be looking at renting points for a Studio Standard view. Which is the best building to request?

When the East pool is complete, many will likely request Tokelau. Closest to GCH and pool. Tokelau rooms face garden or pool area.
People are guessing late spring to summer for the pool construction to be completed. Some are trying to avoid Tokelau until then because they don't want to risk the construction view/noise. Someone at PVB last week said the construction was very loud and they were happy to not be in that building.

Until that pool construction is completed, I recommend Moorea. All standard view rooms facing the garden area (palm trees, grass, etc).

Pago Pago is the other DVC standard view building. Half these rooms face the garden (palm trees, grass, etc) area. The other half of Pago Pago rooms face the parking lot/monorail. Many feel these views are not as good as the ones facing the garden area.

We will be there May 11th to the 17th. Would you think the construction would be done by then? Sounds like Moorea would be a safe building to request.

At this point, it's anyone's guess when things will be completed. I gave up trying to comprehend their schedules with work at PVB.

I suggest monitoring Tikiman's Facebook page. Most days, someone will post pictures of the progress to his site.

I believe they don't start assigning rooms until a week or less before arrival. To be safe, I would put in a request a couple weeks in advance (basing it on posts to Tikiman's Facebook page).
