Can you watch fireworks from poly beach if not staying there?

We will be having dinner at Ohana on one of our nights but we are staying off site. Would it be alright if we watched the fireworks from the beach right after dinner? Wasn't sure if it was for guests staying at the resort only or even if the view was impacted by the new bungalows they built.

Its our first time going. Is it a far walk from Ohana to the beach area?

It's not a far walk, but there's not much beach left since they added the bungalows. And I'm not sure the music will be piped in. I'd walk back to the TTC (if that's where you're parked) and watch from there. They should have the music.

We wont be parked at a park (I dont think). Thats our arrival day and we're not going to a park that day, just having dinner at Ohana that night. And I suppose that brings up another question. Will we have to pay the $17 parking fee to have dinner. Only done one resort ADR before and it was at the Contemporary. We werent charged to park but the Polys location leads me to think we have to go through the main gates (dont remember doing that when we went to CM).

When you approach the main gate parking, go to the last lane on your right, tell the attendant you are going to the Poly, you then follow the signs to the Poly (the exit is on the far right)at the Poly tell the parking attendant you have a reservation (have your number with you, he might check it) and he will let you park .

Yes, all visitors to the Poly are able to view the fireworks... You don't have to be staying at the Poly or onsite. However, there is less available space on the beach because of the DVCs. They still have the music piped in. You have the option to either self park (free) or valet at the Poly.

We did this on our trip last month. Went to 'Ohana for dinner then walked down to the beach and watched the fireworks. The music was piped in and we had a great view!

Thank you all so much for the info. Very helpful! The 2 people going with me have never been to Disney so being able to see the fireworks from the poly beach after dinner on our arrival day will be a nice way to kick off the week!

My favorite place to relax and watch outside of the park is he Poly. (I actually like to sit at the WL beach and watch the EWP and then you can see the high fireworks at MK but no music, it's just nice to sit on the beach).

I always watched Wishes from the dock where the resort ferry docks. Good view and I found the music was louder than on the beach.

This is always our 1st night tradition to kick off our trip. have done it numerous times, we usually go eat cs @ capt cooks and walk out on the beach, grab a chair and watch wishes over the lake, so pretty I love it!!!

Some of the Disney music streaming sites play the fireworks music at night. I don't know if it coincides perfectly with the show but it would set the mood if you don't have other options.

We may be staying offsite for the first time on our next trip. Our 1st night tradition is the same as yours! We love Capt Cooks, and tend to do more CS than TS meals. Are you able to park at the Poly for a CS meal, or do you have to have a reservation for a TS?

1) Usually.
2) However, on crowded nights (like holidays) they ONLY let people staying at Poly go to the beach for Wishes.
3) Lots of guests staying at Poly complained they could not watch Wishes due to the interlopers.
4) They actually check bands on those crowded days, much like entering a swimming pool.

Then this is a change since early August. We were there the first week and no music was piped in on the beach area. We did it twice. Music was heard from the open doors in the Hawaii building rooms with Theme Park Views and a couple of guests attempted to play the music over their phones but it was faint and hard to hear over people talking. If they returned the music, that is great.

I think people overhear the music from the Hawaii building and think it's piped in. Or someone brings speakers down and syncs with their phone.
But I'm pretty sure the speakers that the Poly had out are gone meaning the only way to hear it is to overhear it from someone or something else

I could be wrong - maybe the music we were hearing was from the building behind us. :confused3 It wasn't very loud so that's a possibility. I didn't notice anyone with phones getting the music that way. It definitely sounded like it was through a speaker system of some sort nearby.

It wouldve been nice to have music but OOOOMG the view of wishes was amazing!! This was our first stay at the Poly and thought it was 10000x better watching them from the poly beach over our normal theme park view at bay lake!!
