Ok, I'll bite.

So, if Star Wars is taking over the Indiana Jones area and part of the parking lot. Then why are they shutting down the Osbourne lights so soon? Obviously SOMETHING new is going there but with Toy Story and SW being Phase 1 and 2, it seems like a long way off.
I agree but from what I understand part of streets of America will be going away but not all. I would also imagine because that will be right in the middle of two major construction areas Disney is probably thinking that might be a problem with large crowds.

Surprised people haven't talked about this more.

I'm surprised that Star Wars is planned to expand that far out, and not take over Echo Lake and the old American Idol building, since it is so close. Isn't that where the new Jedi Training was rumored to be?

I'm assuming that parking across the street from World Drive will be CM parking? Phase 3 is almost as big as Star Wars Land. I wonder what they have in mind for that area. More Pixar I would assume. Or maybe they are hoping to have theme park rights to Marvel by the time Star Wars is opened.

Jedi training is staying where it's at, it's currently under refurb.

Marvel is not part of the plans at all. Pixar is very likely.

I'd like to point out that the crane in MK has not sparked as much havoc this year because they are only using it at night to put up the lights.

Memory maker includes photopass downloads, attraction photos, magic shots, select dining photos, and then stock Disney photos.

I believe the AP only includes the photopass downloads and attraction photos as far as I know but I don't know for sure.

It was confirmed on the theme parks forum by someone who has it that there is no difference between MM and AP photopass except that MM expires in 30 days and AP photopass in 365 days. So the AP version is better.

You know - it's easy to slog on Disney - but this is a pretty smart "perk" to add. The biggest negative is that if you are a family of two or a family of ten - it doesn't really cost the same for the photo pass - whereas adding it before was $169 per family - so this adder is a better value for the small family.

Actually as I think about it - the "Gold" pass is a nice value for us if we put two trips within one calendar year. The savings on the park pass PLUS the photopass is a nice bonus.

One thing that has to be remembered - the regular ticket prices are rising as well - so no surprise that the APs will rise to meet them.

Question about those Platinum Plus passes...what exactly is included with admission to WWoS? What can one actually do there?

Oh - and to the question of the regular tickets going tier - I TOTALLY expect that to happen now with the tiered regular park passes. They already charge different room and food rates during peak seasons. (And it's not just at TS that they raise food prices. Back in 2009 we were at WDW for Christmas the week before the holidays - and that Saturday (Dec 19th) was our last day, and they raised all the prices at the food court at Pop Century. I think it happens everywhere, just no-one talks about it.)

The one thing I don't know how easy it would be for them to make weekend tickets more expensive. I could see having 'Seasons" similar to the rooms and DVCs, but making weekends a higher price might make ticketing awfully confusing. (And leave a lot of tourists upset when they show up on Saturday to use their passes.)

However, based on how the season passes are working, my guess is the day tickets will go along with the APs. I wonder when they'll roll them out?

When they don't have any events going on they don't have much to do. There is a ESPN restaurant there but I don't think it's open all the time and they have a ESPN gift shop.

The fans have not reacted with much enthusiasm to the news...

Micechat, which has been mincing words as not to offend Disney recently, just sent out a truly scathing attack on Disneyland.
http://micechat.com/111763-star-wars-changes-disneyland/ (for the record, I don't think the Rivers of America stuff closing temporarily hurts the value in a major fashion, but they sure as heck feel it does)

Bob Chapek was out in front in the morning explaining their rational. It's fascinating how far Disney has come since a decade ago.

Right now if I were Disney, I'd seriously consider holding back from further price increases temporarily. The outright hostility in which I heard multiple news outlets attack Disney in a one sided way was pretty blatant. The brand is Disney's most valuable asset, and it's getting slammed. Will it really matter in the long run? Probably not. Do I want to find out? Nope.

Additionally, this about the time they should start shutting up the Disneyland APs by announcing new SW details, Marvel Info, and of course the parking structures (they can at least do the parking structure right?). Further info on DHS could be dumped too on the refocusing of the park. Frankly they need to get the media and fans to stop thinking about prices, and have them focusing on offerings. They can't begin to tell me they've only got those three pictures of concept art, and they're about to embark on construction. That's impossible.

Welcome to the all new Sunset Showcase (flex theater)

I'm really surprised they didn't do that to quiet the drama. Maybe they'll do that when they release the tiered pricing...
