Hi!
We are planning our ADRs for April and my kids have requested to eat tacos on our Epcot Day. Would you recommend La Hacienda or San Angel Inn? They both have kids tacos on their menus. But just wondering if one may serve better adult fare. Or if one stands out more than the other,
Thanks! :)

I think the one without the ride is a little more idk upscale?? Maybe

I wouldn't go as far as to say either restaurant in Mexico is upscale (neither are signature). We actually prefer the brighter atmosphere in La Hacienda and found the seating at San Angel Inn to be a bit cramped. But the fare varies a little bit, so if one has what you like versus the other, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

Lol yea upscale wasn't the best word to use but all I had at the moment.

Your kids will like the atmosphere better at San Angel. Boats from the ride sail past you

I realize that it is not 'Signature' or upscale, but I have 2 kids (ages 8 and 6) that want tacos. And that's all that we need. It's their vacation too and we want everyone to enjoy it. :)

I will say that neither place are what most of us consider Mexican in that they aren't Tex-Amex, but more authentic. I don't think they have traditional ground beef tacos...my DD complained last time. They do have steak and I think chicken tacos though.

If you are looking more Tex-Mex, I would say La Hacienda just because it has more taco options for kids and adults. I also like the entrees for two at La Hacienda. You can either get the seafood or meat option, which is really good. We are eating at San Angel Inn for the first time in ages (~15 years) over Christmas. We had to convince my dad because he hated it and he hates Mexican food in general (and we live in Texas). I haven't had a bad meal at La Hacienda and I have eaten there every year since it has opened.

As a kid, I begged my parents to eat at San Angel Inn because of the atmosphere. It was unlike any restaurant I had been to at the time (plus the ride boats sailed past!). It's still one of the few things I remember from our childhood trips - and it wasn't the food I remembered :)

Course now there are heavily themed family restaurants so it's much less unique but if I were taking kids to eat tacos, I'd go there.

I have only been to San Angel Inn but that's what I would pick. The food wasn't great (in 2004) but the atmosphere is really cool. I wanted to eat there as a kid but never did.

We ate at the San Angel in February. The kids LOVED it - the atmosphere is so cool. They loved the volcano in the background and the fact that it looked like"night" inside the restaurant (we ate lunch there). I had the enchiladas and they were good. The kids had quesadillas, I think.

Never been to San Angel Inn but La Hacienda has become my family's favourite restaurant in Epcot. My boys were 4 and 7 at the time of travel and we were not sure they would like their meals. We had been once before and loved our experience so decided to try it with the boys. The food is a little spicy so I was surprised my kids liked it so much, but they did. My favourite dish is the Tacos di Camarones (shrimp taco) and I asked for the shrimp grilled instead of fried. Their margarita are amazing too. The kids had the quesadillas and the chicken tacos and they loved their dishes, especially the refried beans. The restaurant is really pretty too with amazing lighting and a great view of the water.
Hope that helped

I had a great experience at San Angel Inn a few weeks ago. It was my favorite restaurant as a kid and I hadn't been there in almost 20 years. We loved our food, but we stuck with appetizers and margaritas. The favorite app of the group was the Tostadas de Tinga. We also liked the quesadillas and the corn cakes topped with black beans and pork. We were a party of three 30ish year old women, and we shared 3 appetizers, each drank 1 margarita, and went through a bunch of their chips, and we were full when we left.

We eat at San Angel Inn every time we come to disney and the tacos for the kids are great,we have eaten there twice on this trip.

San Angel inn great atmosphere under the stars awesome. And it being next to the boat ride adds to it. Great sounds for children. Food is good too.
