DVC Dining Discounts

I have searched high and low and cannot find my answer....so I turn to you all to see if anyone has any insight here.

Last time we tried using one of the dining discounts for DVC, we ate at San Angel. It was our only OOP meal since we were starting the portion of our trip with other family members and we would be on the DDP. When I inquired about the discount, I was told that it was not valid on Fridays (dined on a Friday).

As I sit here and calculate best value for us...go with DVC discount or TIW (even with the new price)...I have looked to see if there is a restriction on day of week as this server told us. I cannot find this information anywhere. According to this year's benefits, it just lists the percentages off at each establishment and which meal time(s) you receive the discount.

Are the discounts daily as I am reading it or are there some discounts that are specific to days of the week as our server at San Angel told us?

You were given bad information by the server. Some AP Dining Discounts are week days only (excludes Sat & Sun). I've never seen any dining discount that specifically excluded Friday.

None of the DVC discounts have a "weekday" restriction. The AP discounts at San Angel is M-F, excluding holidays.

I assumed it was bad info from the server. DH did not feel like arguing it at the time. I just wanted to double check my facts before making my final decision.

If a CM tells you a discount is not available and you know it is, ask for a manager. The manager needs to know so that they can address the situation with the server.

Log in to your dvc member account and print out the current DVC Member Magic perks. It lists all of the possible dining discounts with the potential restrictions. I know Chefs de France changed from 20% to 15% recently. That's why I always print that out right before I go on vacation. It also reminds me to do it.

My bad - I see you already did that. My pet peeve is when people don't read the entire post and then I went and did it myself.

Hmm. I couldn't remember if I printed that out right before or after so I just went over there and good griefness. I can't find the darn thing now . . . so we know it must have been before. LOL

Geez - I finally gave up and googled it and found it that way. But never could figure it out directly through the website.
