1900 Park Fare Dinner - Opinions, Please

Knowing we are not interested in the characters and we do like buffets...I'd love opinions on the food here. The reviews I found were a few years old so I'd like to hear from people who have been here recently. Thanks in advance!

We went almost two years ago for dinner - I have two little girls though so the characters were the big draw for us. That said, the food was good. Huge variety of food so everyone in our group could find something which was important to us. The food itself was not out of this world or anything, but everyone left happy. :)

We just went in August and enjoyed the food. There was a nice variety, the quality was good for buffet, and it was hot, fresh and plentiful. The dining room was clean, the server attentive.

Be careful though......you may find that the Tremaine Family ges you hooked on this character meal! LOL!

The food was good, but it's not a place I would go to JUST for the food. The characters are a huge part of the draw. I don't think the food is THAT good, that I'd pay the price for it, without getting the characters too.

For buffets where we actually enjoyed the food, I'd go with Boma or Trail's End. Neither have characters and the food at both was very, very good.

I wouldn't eat here just for the food. The characters actually make the meal at 1900 Park Fare- especially at dinner. Agree that Boma would be a better choice of a non character buffet.

Warning: the stepsisters are not always there. We booked the dinner last year because we wanted to see them and they were not there. Dinner was fine - food was decent (not as good as their breakfast food IMO) and service was good but the character interaction was disappointing because it wasn't what we were hoping for.

Of course, characters are never guaranteed but we typically end up seeing who we hoped for.

I agree. The entertainment was great, but the food not so much (my opinion). If characters aren't a priority, I'd choose a different restaurant.

I really enjoyed the food. It was actually pretty good. It was the best buffet we went to on our June trip. Of course, as others have said, I'm not sure it is worth the price if you don't care about the characters.

We just ate here in May for the first time. I had read so many mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. It seemed everyone agreed the characters were a lot of fun, but the food had a lot of complaints. We ended up really enjoying our meal. The buffet itself seemed a tad smaller than some of the other Disney buffets we are used to, but the food was quite good. The flank steak in particular was delicious and I found myself going back for seconds and thirds. The strawberry soup was also very good and sweet enough it could almost be considered more of a dessert item. Aside from those two items nothing else stands out in my memory, but I know I enjoyed everything I tried.

That said, like others mentioned I'm not sure if it's worth the price if you don't care about the characters. But I'd consider it a good use of a dining credit.

I went 2 summers ago and really enjoyed the food. Like PPs said, it was nothing spectacular, but I was happy. Honestly you are paying for the character interaction there - which is a big part of the meal.

We have really enjoyed our dinners there. I thought for a buffet it was pretty good, but I am not a huge fan of buffets. I know you said you weren't going for the character interaction, but . . . we loved the characters. The stepsisters and stepmother were fabulous! As were Cinderella and Prince Charming. I have great pictures of my son not wanting to take pictures with the stepsisers. They were hilarious! :)

We were there in August and tried 1900 to visit the GF and for a different dinner experience. We enjoyed it very much. The food was good - typical WDW-style buffet. Plenty of good choices and nothing that we didn't like. We like to eat an early dinner, so we were there by 5:30, but the food was hot and fresh and the restaurant was neat. The servers did a nice job and the characters were fun.

We've eaten there for dinner twice and thought it was pretty good. There are other dinner buffets we like better, but the food was decent and was kept well stocked.

My husband, who is selective about food whether at home or vacation, really liked the buffet and would go back, which is saying a lot. He typically doesn't have much praise for any theme park restaurants. We went this past April and had roast beef, turkey, salmon, rice, veggies and some cute little desserts. My daughter (2) enjoyed everything. I remember the salad, salmon and very buttery green beans were all tasty. DH said his Mojito was the best he's ever had on vacation.

FYI we had Cinderella, Prince and stepfamily who were all entertaining and fun. We got a very inexpensive Cinderella picture book at home and they all signed on their pictures. Stepsisters drew a moustache on Cinderella's picture which makes us giggle when we read the book!

We had dinner there on our last trip in November and we loved all of our meals... except 1900 PF (wished we would have done breakfast instead). It was our least favorite of the trip and we are not picky by any means and loved every other TS we went to. We did enjoy the characters and that is mostly what the draw is at dinner there. The buffet was nothing special and there wasn't much we liked and nothing stood out. Just my opinion- glad we did it, but next time we are going to try breakfast. We aren't huge fans of dinner buffets to begin with, but love breakfast buffets so this could have been another reason why we did not care for it. The only dinner buffet we love in disney is Cape May Cafe.
