Hi all I've been reading through the tips and trips reports everyday since I booked our families first dlrp trip (nov 2015). I've learnt a lot and picked up some really helpful tips from all you so thanks. I was wondering if someone could help. I booked dcr for 3 nights (2 ad & 2 ch) for €600 through travel agent. I've now seen same package with half board meal plan for €723. Is it possible to upgrade through Disney direct or do I have to go through travel agent. (Really don't want to deal with them again, long story) also where is the best place to buy dlrp rain ponchos? Seen them on uk site prior to planning now I can't find them
 
If you've booked through an agent Disney won't deal with you hun. You have to go through the agent.

I bought my DLP rain poncho in DLP. Most of the shops sell them.
 
If you booked through a travel agent the travel agent will have to do the changes to your trip. Most travel agents should be willing to do the work for you, if they aren't then you need a new travel agent for your next trip. Most TA's bend over backwards now for their clients trying to keep business since so many people book on their own now it is nice to have a great TA to do the work of planning and looking for deals sometimes.

When I was in DLP it didn't rain but if DLP runs their shops like WDW or DL in California the ponchos will be out for sale in shops with the first drop of rain. In WDW they are usually for sale up at the counter so I would go to the counter first in DLP too.
 
thanks for all the replies. Looks like I'll need to phone TA tomorrow TA made few mistakes with booking. Firstly I asked for transport to be added, contract came out with transfers inc but no change to price. Spoke with TA on phone regarding transfer times and they didn't say anything about price but when I went to pay they said it was mistake and couldn't stand over it. Offered to give me €50 discount on car rental but where charging me the same price for the same car as I could get myself. Then I wanted to change accommodation (€60 dearer) I had to pay €100 due to change for admin fair enough. I waited a week for confirmation email to come through so I could pay the balance. Still hasn't arrived (due sept 02) even after numerous unreturned phone calls. went into shop to pay balance and was given a written receipt cos machine was broken, was told I would receive a printed receipt in post and I would also get confirmation e mail from them a few weeks later. Neither has arrived after almost 5 weeks. Dreading the thoughts of ringing them again.
Only 52 more sleeps til we go to the magic. Haven't told dds yet ( bday surprise). They keep asking can we go and we keep saying One Day. Can't wait to see their little faces. Not sure when or how to tell them. Either night before, but I know they won't sleep or that morning on way to airport.
 
Unfortunately thems the joys of using a ta. This is the main reason most of us would recommend booking directly with Disney, as they don't charge any extras/admin fees etc. But if you go into your ta and remind them of all their errors they may allow you to upgrade without and another fee if they want to keep your business.
