Started pulling my layers out of the laundry and setting aside to pack. Already my pile is too big. I need Anna to come help me edit!

I booked a car to get us to DLP from the airport. We were going to take the train but then I thought so you're going to be tired and hungry and confused and then you're going to try to figure out the train situation? Why do I want to start my vacation with a whisper fight with Jeri in the middle of the airport just to save $40?

Plenty of time to fight/learn/experience the train system getting to the ship two days later after we've eaten and slept!

I always tell my sister to set yourself up for success. Time to practice what I preach!

We will be traveling the week before the cruise, so we have managed to be mostly packed for both trips. I'm probably bringing too much for France, but there were days I froze on our last trip, so I'm going to try and avoid that this time! lol

Currently, I have emptied my closet into the staging area for packing. Brian is alarmed. It was so cold and rainy this weekend that I panicked about having appropriate layers. Time to start weeding things out. My mom reminded me that they do laundry on river cruises, and it's really easy to send it out and have it back clean and pressed the next day. Sorry if I created undue hope about changing docks. It looks like we will be docked in Le Pecq. At least, that's where the Rinda is docked right now, and I haven't read any updates about that demonstration that was supposed to happen a couple of weeks ago. It seems like Viking is making efforts to make sure we can get to/from Paris easily. Now if I can just figure out how to use my new camera!!!!

I got everything in a carry-on but I'm thinking of bringing a bigger piece of luggage just because I think I'm going to bring lots of stuff home. I need to decide soon.

I think the drive from the airport to DLP should be easy. It seems like it's an interstate or Highway type of road.

Has anyone had thoughts about the best time to arrive at the boat on Monday? I thought the Viking info was oddly vague on this point. I feel like we may stay at in Paris until early afternoon and arrive about 3:00ish in the event they have any briefings, etc. before dinner. I think we will just explore the boat and local area until the evening activities begin. If anyone has arrived a better strategy, I would appreciate hearing about it.

We plan to check out of the hotel at noonish and head to the ship.

It's my understanding that Viking is running shuttles into and back from Paris.

We are spending a couple of days in Paris prior to the cruise, so we may just hang out, unpack and start to unwind.

That sounds like an excellent plan Kevin. I like the idea of seeing how the day unfolds. We are only arriving in Paris the day before, but we hope to make the most of it! I hope that everyone has a relaxing and uneventful flight.

Hope everyone has a great flight! I'm in the final stages of trying to get all my work out. If I don't stop stress eating I'm not going to fit into any of my clothes in Paris. If my jeans are too tight nobody judge me too harshly, okay?!

Our plan on ship day is to just sort of meander over to it with no real agenda on time and then take a rest day. I always need a down day and I never take one, but this trip I'm going to give it a try.

Safe travels everyone! We don't get in until Monday. We arrive at some obscene hour in the morning, and I think the plan is to ditch our luggage with a Viking representative and head into Paris wandering aimlessly into various cafes and chocolate shops, finally collapsing on the Rinda briefly before cleaning up for dinner. Beyond that, who knows??!!! See you all soon!

We are in Paris!!!

Landed about 6 am, got to the hotel about 7:30, got some breakfast and then toured the city for a few hours. Got into the room about 1:00. Napped for a couple of hours. Now time to find some dinner....
