Any pregnant ladies been in their first trimester?

Due to multiple circumstances, we may be taking a trip in the spring. And hubby and I have decided not to wait to try for baby #2 until after that trip. If we keep waiting for the right time we will never have another baby. So it is possible that I could be in my first trimester or early second trimester. Am I crazy for even considering this? It would be me, DH, DD (2.5), DM, DF, DB. For health reasons we would be taking it easy. I know there are rides I couldn't do. But I keep thinking that I would be potentially putting my hypothetical baby at risk. Looking for stories from moms who have been there in the earlier stages of pregnancy.

When we went in 2006 I was 6 or 8 weeks pregnant. My biggest issue was I was tired and mildly nauseous.

We did end up cancelling a few ADRs (this was before the credit card guarantee) and going slower then planned and I think we threw an extra rest day in. All in although it was a lot of fun and I don't regret going then.

I went to Disney and I was 16 weeks pregnant. We were there for a full week. Every day we woke up at 7 did the park for a couple of hours then I would go back to the room around 4 nap or go to the pool and we would do a nice dinner every night at 7 and it worked out great.

I also ensured I did a sit down meal for breakfast lunch and dinner it was a good break

There was a lot of attractions I could go on and I didn't feel like I was missing out at all in fact I don't regret going when I was pregnant it was the most relaxing trip to wdw we have ever had.

I think I was about 13-14 weeks pregnant when we went in Feb 2013 for my daughter. My son was about 18-19 months old at the time. We had also went to Universal. A few days before we were to leave on vacation, I was spotting. I had never spotted with my first pregnancy. So I was very worried. I notified my doctor, and he saw me literally the day we were leaving for vacation if I'm remembering correctly. I work at the hospital in postpartum, so maybe the doctor was being extra nice because of that, but it reassured me because of the spotting. He did an ultrasound that showed everything was fine. I did spot while on vacation too- once when we were at Universal it seemed a little heavier than it had been. I tried to take breaks and my husband picked up on our son and pushed him in the stroller. Then when we were at Epcot, I was eating a pretzel and I was attacked by seagull who stole part of my pretzel, and scratched me. So then I was paranoid I was going to catch some disease from a bird. So I then went to the medical area- I think it was next to the baby center and cleaned it and they gave me neosporin and band aids. I had carried around hand sanitizer and had already cleaned my hands with that. Luckily, I was never nauseated too much with my pregnancies.

I went when I was about 6 weeks pregnant with my son. It was a great trip--I just took it easy and drank a lot of water. I remember shopping for baby clothes and stuff in the parks which was a lot of fun!

Thank you for the stories so far. If we get pregnant my options will be to go during early pregnancy or when the baby is 2-4 months old during flu season, so to me it is a no-brainer that the baby would be safer in my belly in the spring. We are trying to get my parents and brother down there one more time before something happens, and we've already postponed their trip once. I can't do that to my brother again because I decide to have a baby.

I travelled to WDW when I was about 14 weeks pregnant from the UK for 2 weeks with my husband and 17 month old. I wasn't pregnant when we booked, but knew I could be and hadn't really thought enough about it to worry. We took things a bit slower anyway with our LO. I drunk lots of water and made sure I ate regularly. I did get ill one day which was a bit worrying but I was ok. I didn't suffer from morning sickness so that wasn't an issue. A couple of times I got a bit worried about crowds knocking into me (lights motors action at HS), but wasn't really an issue. We had a really good time and I would do it again without worrying. :-)

Every pregnancy is different, but I think you'll be fine. Heck, I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and this weekend we did Legoland yesterday all day, Epcot until close last night (10 pm and then we watched Illuminations) and the DAK this morning. We're local and I credit the theme parks for my weight loss rather than gaining weight. We go a few times each week and I walk a ton!

Technically, yes. In October 2011 I was pregnant when we traveled to DW but didn't know I was. I took a test the day we got home and it was positive. I rode pretty much every ride, drank a few margaritas, got sunburnt, and drank way too much caffeine. I was so worried when I got home and found out I was pregnant but delivered my son the following June. :) I would not have had that kind of trip if I knew! Listen to your doctor's advice and listen to your body. Don't push yourself too hard and stay hydrated and you should be fine.

I was about 8-10 weeks and I had no issues. My walking was slow then like the last trimester and bathroom breaks worked since I had a 4 yo and a nearly 2 yo so we all went!

I just avoided some rides which wasn't that big of a deal.

I went 9 weeks pregnant. Never again. I had horrible "morning" sickness and you could've mapped my trip by the bathrooms I had to stop at to throw up. Didn't enjoy the food like usual because I was nauseous. We are not rope drop people, so no getting up early, but still by the end of the day I would fall asleep by 8 pm- DH would leave me asleep in the hotel room and go back to the parks to ride on what I couldn't. This was before we had any kids, thankfully.
If out trip had been a few weeks later it would've been better but that's not predictble. For me, their was a big difference between weeks 9 and 12 of my pregnancy.

I mean- it's a disney trip so of course I had fun...just not worth it to me to ever do again.

We went again when DD was 4 months and had a much better trip.

I worked at WDW pregnant (and after work I was always playing around in the parks) I always made sure to drink lots of water (you can get cups of ice water for free at quick service) I sat down when I felt fatigue, ate if I felt hungry. Basically I just listened to my body that was the most important thing. My biggest problem was smells set me off, so I tried to map my route around avoiding certain smells (mine was the smell of turkey legs made me sick) just dont be in a rush, find shade and enjoy :)

Just be ready for the trip to need to be flexible. You don't know how you will be feeling. I had a terribly rough first 20 weeks- I lost 17 pounds, and couldn't keep down a bite of food. But I honestly felt fine in between all the throwing up. (Though my OB would NOT have been okay with all the walking- I'm still on strict "no exercising"- first trimester I wasn't allowed to do anything, now I'm allowed to walk, at a leisurely pace, no more than a mile a day- because I'm still not gaining weight.) Other people never vomit but feel so miserable they can't function. And then some people feel awesome!

So you might miss days, you might go real slow, or it might be business as usual.

I don't think you'd be putting the baby at any kind of risk as long as you talk to your OB about what rides you can do or not. And drink a lot of water, and make sure you have your vaccines up to date before you go (maybe have your OB draw titers to make sure your immunities still stand.)

I just got back from a cruise (at 22-23 weeks) and it was FABULOUS. I still never wanted to eat, but I never got sick, and I felt great.
But, while I had good travel insurance, it was always in the back of my mind that if something happened I didn't have good access to a hospital. At WDW that isn't even an issue!

So I'd say it is really tough to judge, but I'd rather go pregnant than go with an infant during flu season!

I was around seven weeks pregnant with our youngest DD on our 2013 trip. Found out we were expecting literally a couple weeks before the trip. I was fortunate to not have bad morning sickness during the trip, just occasional nausea and more so fatigue than anything else which probably also had a lot to do with the demands of keeping up with four other kiddos along with being in my mid 30's instead of in my 20's like I was with my prior pregnancies. I definitely wasn't up to doing any night shows/fireworks in the parks, after 8:30pm I had to be in bed or I was a complete grouch, lol. I sat out of several specific rides that DH and the kids enjoyed without me (TOT, Everest, Space Mtn, Big Thunder); but there were a few 'mid level' rides that I still did (Soarin, Test Track, the Safari, Toy Story Mania, Pirates) in addition to the really tame ones (IASW, Dumbo, Nemo, etc.) I also cancelled me and DH's 'plans' to indulge in a couple of those Grey Goose citrus slushies in the WS at Epcot. He's such a sweetheart that he refused to get one since I couldn't. So the Grey Goose slushy at Epcot, Expedition Everest at AK (DD8 is obsessed with riding this again so I agreed to be her riding buddy on this one), and Fantasmic at HS are on my personal must do list for this next trip, lol!
But I think you would be fine. Pace yourself, get acquainted with bathroom locations in each park, stay hydrated, and take breaks when needed. Good luck!

I went once at 11 weeks and another time at 30 weeks. Both were great trips. I would encourage anyone who isn't going to be upset over missing a few rides to go. It's a more relaxing trip and great people watching!

Our last trip was in April 2013 when I was in my second trimester with my now 2-year-old DS. It was the first time we'd gone in April, and it was hotter than I thought it would be. Still, I felt fine most of the time, and I don't remember the pregnancy affecting our trip much. True, you can't go on the major rides, but that's the only real drawback. If I felt tired, I rested.

Now we are 2 weeks away from going, and I will be 14 weeks along with our second child, which is barely in the second trimester. This time, though, I will have a toddler with me. I have been feeling pretty sick and tired in the first trimester, so I am hoping that part has passed when we go. We haven't meticulously planned this trip so that we won't feel rushed all the time. In fact, this may be the first trip where we actually spend some time lounging around our resort.

I took a quick weekend trip to Las Vegas when I was only 6 weeks along, and that involved a plane flight and 100-degree temperatures, and everything was fine. I wouldn't worry too much.

I did Disneyland at 14 weeks with my first and WDW at 11 weeks with this pregnancy. Both were great trips! With my most recent trip in May, I had just turned the corner on the morning sickness nausea, so thank goodness for that. We've gone to WDW so many times, it wasn't a big deal for me to skip the thrill rides. It would be challenging to go in the first tri if you are actively having lots of nausea and exhaustion--at least for me. But I agree with you--you can't plan pregnancies perfectly so you will probably just have to go with the flow.
