Just like every other age group it depends on what you are going to be doing...

I'd pick it based on proximity to the area you want to be at most. I would venture to guess AK would be fun for a day, but at that age you won't want to spend the bulk of your time there. That leaves the choices between downtown, HS/EPCOT, and MK (I'd probably guess at that age they're a little less excited about MK, but that's a bit of an over-generalizations).

Yeah, I selected BCV for the proximity to Epcot and HS and SSR for being able to walk to/from DtD. I have 3 kids in this age group so I was going off of that. But, then I wished I had selected AKV and BLT for the extra bathroom and the sleeper chair. And we just did SSR (as well as AKV and BWV for a big trip a couple weeks ago) and my teens were actually bummed with SSR since they couldn't really refill their soda mugs as easily (or grab snacks at store or CS place). They really liked that about the 1 night we were at Jambo (everything was right downstairs...but Jambo didn't have the extra bathroom). My kids have never stayed at BLT but I think they would like it (DH and I stayed there and we were right off skyway bridge with quick shot over to store and CS place). And mine do spend a lot of time at MK...they love doing the late EMH there.

BWV for HS and EPCOT. They can go ahead or on their own for FP's. Walk to mini-golf, ESPN Restaurant, game room at BW, gym with supervision, and Boardwalk games in evening, not to mention candy and ice cream store.

Edit: While BWV is our choice, I meant to list BCV as well. for all the same reasons.

Yup, mine liked that this last trip and they really really liked the bakery (teens and their iced coffees and whatnot).

I have a 16 year old and a 19 year old - both boys. We visit at least twice a year, and my boys prefer:

VGF
Poly
BLT
Kidani Village
BCV

In that order. Hope this helps :)

When mine were teenagers, they loved SSR and the ability to hang out at Downtown.

My kids are college students. We love the Epcot resort area because there is a lot to do without ever going to a park. The Boardwalk offers entertainment at night. You can walk to two parks. And Epcot WS is literally just steps away.

I think it really depends on the kids going. If they are enchanted by the Magic Kingdom, that's a different kid than one who is going to hang at DTD. And that's a different kid than one that is going to ride Rock n Rollercoaster fourteen times on the trip and think everything else is tame. And that's a different kid than one that is going to need to be fed every ten minutes, and that's a different kid than one that is going to lie in a lounge chair by the pool without ever getting wet. I can't drag my teenagers to DTD or for a pool day - so pools and DTD have no appeal. For my son, he's the fourteen times on Rocknroller Coaster kid, my daughter is happy to be in the parks.

I can't get my teens (DS-18 and twin DDs-16) to the pool anymore (since they were about 10-11). Two of mine like DtD (one DD hates shopping but she'll go to DtD to eat or to see a movie, bowl or Disney Quest). My DS is not big on thrill rides (though he did them this summer because DDs' 17 year old friend was with us ). He likes to sleep in and eat. My DDs like the thrill rides and, like their dad, they're not into shows, parades or classic rides (like IASW). They do like AK and they like the WS at Epcot. And they all seem to prefer a hotel with inside hallways where they can shoot down to lobby (except this next trip where DDs are playing softball at WWoS and they requested a resort where they didn't have to walk through lobby in cleats and all dirty).

Very funny as my kids feel the same. Their favorite is Jambo over BLT and BWV due to proximity of everything within the hotel.

My boys are 17, they love the ability to get to Downtown Disney quickly. I picked SSR as my first choice. They also love Boardwalk to walk to two parks. It was hard to pick only 2 because the boys like BLT, AKL, BCV and OKW.
