Is GR open at MK before rope drop?

We plan on getting to MK around 8:30 am for a 9am park opening. Once we get through bag check and the turnstiles and are waiting with everyone else for the welcome show, can we proceed to GR to request a DAS card? I don't want to waste the shorter lines that you can get if you are there for rope drop (DS can wait for about 20-30 minutes). I assume lines are long at GR in the morning. I'd rather ride 3 rides from 9-10am than stand in line at GR for 30 minutes and get to ride only one thing before 10.

I feel like my best option is to try to get the DAS card while waiting for rope drop. Otherwise, I guess we just wait til later in the day and trek ALL the way back to GR to get the card.

You can try the Guest Relations location outside the gates before rope drop. They *may* be able to issue a DAS there if they have the equipment and are not too busy handling ticket issues. You will not be able to go to City Hall until rope drop unless you have early access for an ADR.
Enjoy your vacation!

I have found that they let you in about 10 minutes before the park opens and they hold people at the hub before going into the lands you can try to do it out side but if that dose not work I find I can get in and get out of the GR inside before they let the people go in the lands. the only thing that really has a long line is 7DMT and A&E I think you could try that ( I do not know if I am lucky but the longest I have ever waited was 10 minutes at GR I am normally in and out with in 10 minutes)

As for GR outside the park - it's often backed up badly when the park opens with people who have ticket problems. They usually redirect me to the one INSIDE the park because the line is smaller. As for whether or not you can reach it before rope drop {your original question}, I don't know. :)

Bump....I have the same question as the OP.

Answers are still the same. GR outside the parks opens an hour before the park, but isn't guaranteed to be able to issue a DAS. It's kind of a crap shoot. It just depends on how busy they are and if they have the equipment.

as I have said and other have said the out side one may or may not give you a DAS card you can try it.

they do let you in before the park really opens and holds you up at the hub ( I have never been there since I can not handle that) but I just go right in to GR when they do let you in and then walk to the first ride and if I need to get a return time ( for me I normally do 7dmt and the wait is about 30 minutes)

last time I came I got there about 3 minutes after the park opened ( for extra magical hours) the person at GR offered to sign me up for a ride there. I do not know if this is something they normally do or if she was just giving out some pixie dust but that was nice since I have to drop things off at first aid

Thank you for replying even though others answered. I realize it is a crap shoot. Just thought I would give others a chance to share their experience. I'm going for it either way. Hopefully bumping this post helps others. I appreciate when others are helpful and kind.

We were there last Sunday and I went to Guest Relations and was redirected next door as apparently DAS is dealt with there in the mornings and at guest relations in the afternoon.
