Texans are wearing blue today in honor of our law enforcement officers on the day of the funeral of Deputy Darren Goforth. The 8,000 seat church is full and the road to the cemetery is lined with officers and civilians in honor of this man who died a senseless death last Friday evening while pumping gas for his patrol car. May the Lord be with our officers across the Nation and bring peace to his wife and 2 children. :sad1:

All this shooting of police officers is getting out of control. It's scary.

I feel sorry for the police these days! Heard he was a father of 4 and could have retired by now :sad2:

Funeral ended almost an hour ago...11,000 people attended with others lining the streets to the cemetery for a private burial. What a showing of support...Honor Guards from as far away as Canada (Jeff..thank you and your fellow Canadians) and New York City. Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Ted Cruz...even Glenn Beck flew in from Dallas to attend. Very heartwarming service. Denise...your thinking of Officier Gliniewicz killed in Illinois, he was the father of 4 boys (the oldest will be turning 16 shortly) and he had 30 days left until retirement. Deputy Goforth was killed in Cypress (Houston area) last Friday night; he was the father of a 12 year old girl and 5 year old boy. It has become a "trend" for the general public to stand guard over officers (watch their backs) while they pump gas into their vehicles. So, so sad.... :sad1:

Are those the same? The tops are different and there is no garden around the base of mine.

Sad that there have been so many police officers killed that I can't keep track of them! :sad2:
