Spain Pavilion Rumour due to "Gigantic"

Yes... I've thought since day one... And still do...that animal kingdom should have a full austrailian section.

Austrailia... For its size... Has as much biodiversity as is found on the planet... Trailing only the oceans.

How really could you have a park with the stated goal of education and conservation without austrailia? And it would lend to both unique, managable animals and loads of possibilities for attractions.

But no princesses...so deal breaker.

Nevermind.
Maybe if they get an Aussie princess? Naw, they'd probably just end up putting her in Germany since Austria is right next to Germany and the name is similar to Australia. ;)

Maybe Dory will turn out to be a princess in the next Finding Nemo (she is a Royal Blue Tang after all, so the joke writes itself). All they need to do is cut a deal with Outback Steakhouse for the dining experience, build a shop full of cork hats and didgeridoos, and they're off to the races.

I wonder if the real challenge for them, other than spending money, is the space needed for the antipodean wildlife not to simply be in a zoo. Would they have the resources to run essentially two safari areas? I guess at the least they'd want to couple it with another resort.

Ever seen the video of actual Aussies trying food from Outback?

I only wish that most steak restaurants onsite at WDW were as good as Outback, Aussie experience or not. I do wonder what true Australian food is like.

You certainly have low expectations in steakhouses if you think that Outback has good steaks! You need to go to someplace like Shula's or Morton's or one of the many individually owned ones around the nation to have good steaks. Outback does not have good steaks!

I am excited to hear all the news of WDW expansions...but I don't think any new countries are coming to World Showcase, and that is good. Because honestly, most of Future World needs a lot more refurbishing before ANYTHING ELSE should be added. I took a 10 year hiatus from WDW and returned this past May (with a FL resident AP, yay) and EPCOT Future World was just sad; The former Metlife Pavillion/Wonders of Life still stands dormant, Ellen's World of Energy is 20 years OUT OF DATE (did you see the phone she is using in the video? It is just SAD). I understand refurbs are costly, but if Disney is clearly EXPANDING, you think they would spend a few bucks to update the existing rides or make use of space that is already there. I loved EPCOT as a kid, now, I like the World Showcase, but the rest of it is showing it's age and is not the Community of Tomorrow, but rather the Community of Yesterday.

My comment was a barb at the overall low quality of steaks at WDW, nothing else. I realize that WDW has places that are quite good too but many aren't.

This has nothing to do with where we usually go or what we enjoy.

If I'm not mistaken there are only 2 restaurants in WDW that claim to be steakhouses. They are the Yachtsmen in the Yacht and Beach Club and Le Cellier in the Canadian Pavilion. Obviously there are other restaurants that have steaks on the menu but if it's not a steakhouse you don't expect to have good steaks there. The 2 I mentioned earlier plus Shula's in the Dolphin all have excellent steaks.

Sure it isn't great, but Outback's $12 full meal with bread, salad, side, and steak sure beats the full meal you could get from Morton's for $12. What would $12 get you there? Maybe a bowl of soup or a side salad.

Woah, woah...

I'm not a fan of outback...
But Le cellier and yachtsman are NOT good steakhouses...

Le cellier is perhaps the most overrated restaurant in the history of humanity...and is by far the holder of that title in wdw...it runs like a meat factory - no pun intended.

Yachtsmans...seems like they have no clue how to make a steak... Consistently bland, uneventful.

Yeah...I'm not kidding.

While I've never had outback, Le cellier or yachtsman but I'd expect outback to be average at best because it's a chain. Le cellier, other than one person I know who loves the place for their poutine I've heard the same about Le cellier. Yachtsman I have heard mixed reviews more than anything some people like it some people don't. With that said as for on property steak I have heard Shulas is the place to go.

The whole pavilion indoors inside of Uluru?

This was my original idea for an Australia attraction. I thought it would be great placement next to Canada. The ride building being placed behind Canada; mostly as a way to block the view of the Soaring building and a stone colored facade with also blend well with the rocks that the back part of the Canadian pavilion. I wanted the attraction to focus more on the natural beauty and aboriginal peoples while the pavilion could focus on modern day Australia. If they did not feel that it was offensive I would of liked the attraction to be called Walkabout. For the ride type I was thinking of a version of the Indiana/Dinosaur system. I wavered on this since I wondered how successful such a large vehicle would be at allowing room for the expansive beauty of Australia in the ride.
