What I meant by that was, not that I don't understand you paying for your daughter's college, I just meant, I can't relate.

No worries. I understood what you meant. College can be costly in the US, though it doesn't have to be. It all depends on where you choose to go.

Absolutely, and it's similar in australia but not to the same degree.
Plus, it's uncommonly rare for people to live on campus. International students do, but I don't know anyone who lived on campus. We just travel to school and work everyday.
