Portofino with kids?

Planning a trip for June of 2016... but I am unsure which hotel. My kids are 6 and 10. I really like Portofino Bay, but everything I read is about how romantic it is for couples. Will my kids be okay there? I don't want to feel out of place there if it is mostly couples. I heard the pool is great and want to try it.

It's a great place for kids too! They have a really nice pool with a fun waterslide and waterfalls that the kids will love. Sal's Deli is also great for pizza and snacks and so is the gelato store beside it. I would not hesitate to take kids there!

Absolutely take the kids there! Mine had a blast at the pool! They had lots of pool games for them, they loved it!

We're staying there for three nights in January, so I hope so! Our kids at that time will be 12, 11, 8, and 3. I think it's the farthest from the parks, but those who don't want to walk (a/k/a anyone but my 12-year-old and me) can take the boat. I think it looks wonderful and relaxing. We had friends who stayed there and what they really loved was how you can feel like you're totally separated from the parks when you're at the resorts.

We stayed there just a few weeks ago with kids ages 10 and 8. Kids loved the pool and there were lots of kids at the pool/hotel. We enjoyed having dinner one night at the pool bar/restaurant.

Just chiming in to say that my kids loved it, as well? They are 15 and 11, but even the slightly moody 15yo thought it was great. lol

Thank you everyone! All my concerns are gone...I am going to get my reservations now!

It's a huge hotel with big rooms. Just because it feels romantic doesn't mean it's not just adults. Not by a long shot.

My youngest was 8 when we started going - and all my kids loved it every year. (It helped that all 3 preferred the PBH pool over the other 2.) Somehow the romantic feel was still there even with the kids tagging along.

In a couple weeks we're taking 1 & 3 year old grandkids. I'm sure we'll have a blast, but I suspect it may feel a little less romantic. :)

Yes, like Disney all the US deluxe hotels are very kid friendly. They are not quite as in-your-face kid oriented, but there's still plenty of kids.

Of the three, Portofino is a slightly longer walk than the other two, but you can take the boat or pedi-cab anytime you don't feel like walking. US is also more compact than WDW, so even Portofino isn't a bad walk to the parks.

Of the three, Portofino has the largest rooms, so you'll have more room to spread out, if that is something you like.

Also worth noting- only Portofino and HR have pools slides. RP has kids splash areas, but no water slide.
