~*~*~*~*The Official DECEMBER 2015 Thread*~*~*~*~

Can't believe it took six months to see this thread. Add us to the roll call. We will be at Caribbean Beach Resort Dec. 19-27. We got the free dining!!

I think I did good with my ADRs:

12/19 - Ohana (D)
12/20- Kona Cafe (B) Be Our Guest (D)
12/21 - Boma (D)
12/22 - Chefs de France (D)
12/23 - Mama Melrose Fantasmic Dinner (D)
12/24 - Chef Mickeys (B) Teppan Edo (D)
12/25 - Cape May Cafe (D)
12/26 - 1900 Park Fare (B) Luau Dinner Show (D)

We are excited

We are officially booked! And Christmas party tickets are purchased for December 3! I am so excited and it is going to be so hard to keep this a secret from the kids.
Do you get to book special Fp+ for the Christmas party? Or do people mean they book their only Fp+ that day between 4 and 7?

We'll be at that party too!

No FPs are available during party hours, but you can book between 4 and 7 on your party ticket. If you don't plan to be in another park in the morning, it's a nice perk :)

Yep, that's right! I take the day off, then head to the party and am through the turnstile by 4pm. I did this last year for MNSSHP, and will be doing it again on my upcoming December trip for MVMCP. It works like a dream! :goodvibes

I am adding dates!! Thanks to changing school districts, I now can leave for our Christmas trip 3 days earlier! This also means I get to travel with my DH, who was off earlier already. We are undecided on our resort to add (at Poly for majority of trip.) we are looking at discounts at POR, WLV, or YC. Giddy! Longest trip ever!

My wife and I will be there the exact same days. We are flying in early on 12/5 (landing at 11) and flying out late on 12/13 (leaving at 7). We are staying at GF.
That's awesome! We're driving from Texas - hoping we survive the trip! Haha!:drive:

We are booked! :goodvibes

This will be our first time down to see the Christmas decorations up.
Our vacation dates are - Dec 8th - 12th at Pop Century

Can anyone here give me a little info on how MVMCP works with dining reservations? I'm looking at BOG but noticing that the only time slots for dinner are from 4-6pm.. of course the party generally runs until 12am. So i'd expect reservations to at least be open until 10.. I've heard with MNSSHP you can call disney dining & give them your confirmation number to find a reservation.. but I haven't seen anyone talk about this yet. Will this happen for MVMCP?

The TS restaurants generally close when the parties start. This year, BOG offered ressies into the first hour of the Halloween party, so may add times for MVMCP as we get closer, but won't be much past 7.

Roll call update, please! (Old dates 12/23-30). Adding 12/20-23 at YC!!! Now to totally revamp my plans.

I think we are ready and just waiting for 60 days to book out fast passes. Booked all of our dining and kinda torn between one reservation. My wife and I are foodies but I guess you might be able to tell that looking at our ADRs...

12/5 - Raglan Road (L), Artist Point (D)
12/6 - Garden Grill (L), Behind the Seed Tour, Monsieur Paul (D)
12/7 - Rose & Crown (L), Le Cellier (D)
12/8 - Boma (D), MVMCP
12/9 - Bongos Cuban Cafe (L), Holiday D-Light Tour
12/10 - GFC [no ADR made] (L), Victoria & Albert's Queen Victoria Room (D)
12/11 - Biergarten (L), Raglan Road (D)
12/12 - Pecos Bill [no ADR needed] (L), Be Our Guest (D)

As my wife is taking online college courses and still has to do school work while on the trip, most breakfasts will be at GFC so she can study at that time before going to the parks. The one reservation we have questions about is the Garden Grill. We originally wanted to Sunshine Seasons but when we heard the Garden Grill was doing lunches, we got one just in case. She has read reviews and noticed a lot of mixed opinions. Do you all have any opinions on Garden Grill versus Sunshine Seasons???

We've eaten dinner at Garden Grill once...mainly for the character experience. But, we've never been back. While the food was decent, to me it seemed typical of food that you can get at most homestyle food restaurants. We almost always end up at Sunshine Seasons for a quick meal or snack and the food is always good. To us, it's just an easy place to eat and there's so many options. If you are trying to decide between those two...then you might want to consider if you want to take the time for a TS vs. QS or if you want a larger variety (SS) or set menu (GG). There are so many options in Epcot that we usually end up in the World Showcase for most of our meals though. BTW...jealous that you are going to V&A's. :-) It's still on our short list of places we haven't eaten in WDW.

That’s what we are doing that day; having a pool/condo morning and heading to the park at 4pm. I am confused as to FP+ for that day. If we book them from 4-7, will it use one of our 5 day pass admissions? I was told to not scan my magic band for the party and take the hard ticket that I printed off ‘just in case’ but what about if I book FP+? This is confusing me.

Nope, booking FP+ on your MVMCP day won't touch your 5-day pass. The MVMCP counts as a ticket on it's own, and using just it, you can get your 3 FPs between 4-7pm.

I was confused about this same thing last year with my MNSSHP ticket. I had it, and a 4-Day pass. And when my 60 days came, I was able to set up all 5 days worth of FP+. :thumbsup2

As Elevationist mentioned, you need valid ticket media linked in MDX to enable FP scheduling, if which the party ticket counts. However, we took and scanned our hard tickets last year to enter the party before 7 just to ensure no issues occurred with our regular park tickets. Once inside, though, you can scan your MB for FP entrance.

Yep, I did the same as above, and will be doing it again this way in December!

That being said, questions about MVMCP are very welcome in this thread as well. All things regarding December at WDW are discussions to be encouraged. :santa:

Since we got 5 day tickets for the price of 4, and we're getting to Orlando early, mom and I decided to go to a park our arrival day. We picked MK since it's our favorite, but that was a party night, so long story short we will be going to our first MVMCP on Dec 11th! :)
