Where are you buying your Disney goodies?

With the Canadian dollar being so low, and not being a shopper in general, I'd like to get some Disney gear here before we go. Where do you guys like to shop?

My Disney in Canada list so far:

-Disney store. Probably my best bet but an hour away. I'm dragging my heels on actually going.

-Vans. We splurged on Winnie the Pooh shoes for my son (he loves him, and we're doing the character lunch at CP for his bday, so we couldn't resist)

-Walmart. Shockingly low on the Disney clothes right now (at mine anyway)

-Gap. Has a few Star Wars shirts for little boys. Unfortunately not in the toddler section though :(

That's pretty much all I have seen. What am I missing? And any "must haves" to buy now to avoid a 30% exchange rate?

Dollarama, I was there last week and they had Minnie ears for $2.

H&M sells Disney clothing as well.

Maybe check out the thrift stores, like Value Village?

You can check Marshalls and Winners. As always with these stores, it's a crapshoot as to whether the have anything or not.

As mentioned above H&M usually has a couple Disney items scattered around the store as does Forever 21 and Ardene

Old Navy has toddler Star Wars stuff?!? That is going to make my kid so happy!

I would never have thought of any of these places, thanks guys! I do check Winners and Marshalls often, but it's always hit and miss.

ON has been on a retro kick for a few years now. Even for adults, you can usually find band logos (ACDC, KISS), Marvel Comics characters, and Your Local NHL team. It's oddly fascinating.

Personally, i would say keep dragging your heels on hitting up the Disney Store! You won't find much that is even in the ballpark of being reasonably priced and the selection has not been exciting the last few times I've been ... seemed like a lot of plush toys & princessey things?? OH! Just thought of sumtin as i was ready to hit Post Reply. You can shop on-line at the Disneystore.com VIA the Airmiles sight and earn airmiles if you do that and have it shipped to the resort!!

That is equally reassuring and disappointing at the same time. We used to live near a Disney store and we loved going. But not having to drive up there and being able to get stuff at stores near me will be my consolation!

Hi
Oh I love making Disney themed gift boxes and bags.
I usually go with a theme
example:
Beach Bag
sun block
Disney sunglasses
bubbles
towel
waterproof key lanyard
Flip flops
Then I design a tag or a letter and attach it.

Right now Giant Tiger has a ton of Elsa and Anna stuff and also some Star Wars stuff.
I usually can find some Traditional Disney stuff also.
We have a Dollar General Store that has some things I've not seen at Dollarama.

Have fun planning!
Hugs Mel

P.S.
check my Photobucket
I have a few treat (pixie dust) notes that can be printed out and left each night .

That is such a great idea!!! I definitely want to put together a little package for on the plane so I'll check out your photobucket next time I'm on my computer!!

So just a little update, we had to go to Buffalo today so we went to Target. They had Disney tees for as little as $5! Even with exchange that's still super cheap!! Also loved the selection at Ardene, and Winners seems to have just gotten in a ton of Star Wars stuff so if anyone else is on the lookout- go now! Men's shirts were $12.

Now that I've experienced how much cheaper the states still is (it's been years since I've gone over and I just assumed prices had levelled out with the dollar) I'm wondering- is it cheaper to do this than go to the Canadian Disney store? Do they mark up a lot? How far in advance do you order for it to get to the resort and them not throw it away?

I am having such a hard time finding disney t-shirts for my little guy (he's 9). The only thing I have found is Star Wars, but I would really like a Mickey Mouse. Anyone out there have any luck? I've had no trouble finding anything for my daughter.

I found my toddler a Mickey shirt at Target, but I'm not sure if there were any in little boys. I *think* forever 21 had one in little boys sizing but it may have been long sleeved.

I'm not certain most of the usual places sell Mickey stuff for 9yo boys. I have a friend with a 6yo that looks at least 8 and she laments the lack of selection in his size.

you could try Hot Topic or the novelty t shirt kiosk but I don't know how prices compare for those.

So might be best to try shopping online.

Oh and for girls Target also has some princess shirts, but I didn't see any Mickey or Minnie shirts. I've been looking in both women's and girl's sections for myself and nada. I know the toddler section in Old Navy has Minnie shirts, but I didn't see any in the girl's or women's last I was in, maybe they're getting some in with their fall stock?

Where did you find the Disney vans?
At an actual Vans store. In Canada we have a store called Journey's that also sells them. In the U.S. I believe you can buy them at most places that sell Vans or online at The Vans website.

I bought my Donald ones at Journeys in the states, we have been searching for the Jasmine ones since they came out could not find them anywhere in Canada, until we found Baggins shoes website. Free shipping and was here within 3 days, excellent service and pricing!!

Depending on where you live, there are Dollar Tree stores popping up, and I know they have lots of Disney stuff.
AND Disney store, if you can time it right for a sale. I hit up a Disney store when they had their plush on a buy one, get one for $1 sale!

We got these t-shirts at the Disney Store. Can't wait to show these off and represent Canada!
