Has anyone taken their child for their first hair cut here? Is it worth it? Can I make a reservation or appointment?

We will be traveling with a 21 month old and he has not had a hair cut yet. I've been putting this off for a long time but am kind of thinking it sounds pretty cool..

Just looking for any first hand experiences. Thanks!

The ladies there are cool. We've gone several times some on reservation and some just walk up.. Even during the busiest time of the year they were not busy.

Don't forget cash as tips there have to be cash :flower1:

My youngest had his 1st haircut there and it was totally worth it. He got a certificate, Mickey ears, and they wrapped up a lock of his hair to keep. They give you time to take lots of pics during the haircut, so it was a great experience for us.

We're taking our daughter for her first cut while there in October. She's 3 so she's really excited about it.

My daughter got her first haircut there at 18 months and it was great. The man who did it was very quick and professional - she barely even noticed he was behind her. We had a reservation and we still had to wait 15 minutes (in the middle of October), so I would recommend getting reservations. I would be so disappointed if I had been turned away at the door.

Totally worth it! Both of my sons (at at 9 months & 11 months) received their first hair cut here and it is one of our favorite memories. We didn't have an appt but we went right at rope drop because I heard lines can get long. Like the previous poster said- the certificate, Mickey ears and pixie dusted package of his hair was so worth it. And the pictures we took are still some of our favorites! The boys have Mickey stickers all over them and huge grins on their faces- priceless!

It was fantastic!!! Cut off our son's baby curls at 19 months, plan to do our second son's at the same age. They help pose some wonderful pictures too. 1.jpg

we took our ten month old twins for their first haircuts last February- totally worth it. They had no idea what was going on but the pictures are worth the money easily

Anyone know how far in advance you can book this?
I'm almost 100% sure you can book 180 days in advance of your stay. It's totally worth it! We took our little guy for his first hair cut when he was 23 months old. It was a very nice experience and the pictures are some of our favorites from the trip

My oldest got her first haircut there when she was 2 1/2. It is definitely worth it. My youngest will be getting her first haircut there as well when it is time. She is only 14 months and doesn't have much hair yet. It is small so definitely make an appointment. If you are able to go in around noon that is when the barbershop quartet is often there. My DD's appointment was for 11:45. It worked out perfectly to see them.

Are we safe with a 1030 haircut and an 1130 lunch at BOG?

Probably. It might be cutting it close. While the actual haircut itself only takes about 15 min or so...you sometimes have to wait a while even with an appointment. We have had several haircut experiences at the Barbershop. I think I have been there 4 times. The longest we had to wait with an appointment was 35 min. If you have a wait such as that, you might be getting to BOG a little late after finishing the haircut and walking over.

Even so, I bet BoG would still let you in if you explain that you got caught up at the Barbershop so I'm sure it will be fine no matter what.

Made an appointment for this a few months back for our daughter who will be 1, but I think I will have to cancel it because she has no hair yet!!! lol Hoping it grows like a weed in 8 weeks so we can have this memory.
