Opening a SunTrust account

I plan to open a suntrust account when we go to Florida next week and just wanted to check what I'll need to open the account apart from my passport and driving license.

Do you mean a bank account? If that is the case, you need to ask them.

Money! I opened an account two years ago to pay our home owner his rent, simple and easy, nothing special.

Have you thought about getting a Chase account? There are Chase ATMs all over the property. And you might be able to get the Chase Disney VISA.

I suggest you go to the SunTrust site here. https://www.suntrust.com/open-account
There is a "chat support" button and a 1-800 number that you can call to ask your question.
It appears that you need to be a US resident to open an account online, but maybe the 1-800 line can tell you what you will need if you go to a branch.

thanks I'm from the UK so don't think I can get a Chase Disney Visa

Take a couple of ulility bills and a bank statement with your home address. They may ask for this as proof of your address.

I am from the UK- opened mine with my passport photocard Driving licence and $100, took less than 20 mins to open, much less hassle than banks in the uk, so was very impressed.

I Think you have to deposit $100 a month or maintain a min balance of $500 to qualify for free banking

Did you open your account recently? New regulations have made things more difficult.

June 2014 - though I have heard of others more recently having the same experience with Suntrust in DTD

I have now opened an account with no problems I just needed my passport

I'm Canadian and I just needed my passport. Suntrust is very convenient with a location right across from DTD and one MCO.
