Have you ever been picked to play a character during a session of the Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor? Did a ride break down and you had to calm a child down before the ride vehicle started five minutes later? Have you ever let someone in front of you in a queue line? Did you play translator to help a situation resolve itself faster? Suggest what to order or avoid at a dining location? Did your child make a friend at a playground? Take a family photo of strangers? Give up your spot at a parade for a child? Thank a cast member for their help?

There are many ways that a vacation can be magical. A lot of times there are not very magical moments in the parks that can either prolong your misery or be viewed as a chance to turn it all around. Did you ever overhear something so sweet that it just changed your mood? You have to be on the look out for all of these magical moments and to not be afraid of stepping out of your shell to make some happen. You'll be better for it and those memories will be something easy to recall if you're trying to stay positive. So, cheer on a crowd-participant, pick up that trash, and keep smiling...

What did you do to make magic for other guests?

We had a handful of left over child swap passes that we didn't end up using. On our last day just before getting on DME for the airport, I noticed a couple with 2 boys, one of which looked a little young for the E Ticket rides. Anyways, we gave them the passes and the father looked like it was Christmas.

Sure beat throwing them away.

Some wonderful guest made my daughters day today. We were pin trading at "Pinnifer" in Epcot. My daughter spotted another guest also trading with a pin of the cupboard from beauty and the beast. She was so excited and started to trade with him. He told her just to keep it. We were both so thankful I practicly begged him to pick any pin. Really made her day. So sweet.

Oh and maybe that was a little return pixie dust because the previous day my kids ran into a young annual pass holder playing sources of the magic kingdom, they were chatting about the game and the cards she had collected so far, she had all but 3 cards. One of her missing cards just happened to be one my kids got in a starter set. Without hesitation as soon as they heard they offered up their card to her bit was so cute as if she one the lotto. She pulled out a bunch of cards she had doubles of and gave them a bunch of cards as a thank you. It is so fun to see that kind of genuine joy.

Early one morning at the boat dock at Fort Wilderness, we ran into a family trying to get to an 8:15 BOG reservation only to find that the sign said boats to MK start 1/2 hour park opening. It was about 7:30 at this point and park opening was 9. I overheard the mom saying "how do we fix this?" so I stuck my nose in and told them they could take the resort boat to the CR and walk and still make their res. We were doing that, heading to MK for rope drop. On the way there, I told them about trying for 7DMT and hitting PP before the crowds. They didn't know about it. So yay. Hope they had a great day.

We do take photos if asked, and change spots with others on rides if they request (this only happened once though). And we thank cast members when they tell us how to find stuff, like ever changing fp+ places (didn't realize it was in the guidebook until now). As a kid I rode on the Honey I Shrunk the kids bee on the Backlot tour and acted in a Dick Tracy skit

On our anniversary adults only trip in November TSMM broke down just as the park was closing... We were bummed but CMs gave us anytime FPP as we were led off the ride. Decided to catch the boat & at the dock another group apparently heard DH ribbing me about his still being champion & us not coming back for just one ride on TSMM the next day (last day) ... Anyhow the entire group gave us their FPP for TSMM because they were leaving first thing in morning - so we did return and rode 3 times FPP... Around lunch we are discussing heading to Epcot & we had 3 left so we handed them off to to 2 kids whose parents were set against standing in the standby (80 min)...

The tram was too packed in the morning going into the park from the parking lot...we shuffled over but the family of 4 was not going to fit in the same row as us. My sweet retired and innocent dad looked at them and said to the young boy, "you can sit in my lap" (to make room for the boy's dad). The mom reached over the next row in the tram to scoop the boy up into her lap. I couldn't stop laughing and had to explain to my dad that most parents might be concerned when an elderly gentleman offers to give their little boy a ride in his lap. I also explained how he could not talk to strangers the rest of the trip. I know that family will have great stories to take home, though, and maybe that's a little magical!!!

I always pick up some glow bracelets from the Target dollar spot and while waiting for the night parade or fireworks I let my little ones, 6 and 4 , hand them out to other kids. They love doing it and the kids and parents always seem very surprised and happy. Cheap and easy!!

in our park bag I had a few Disney sticker pages and a bag of dum dum suckers. If we saw a child in line with a birthday button we would ask the parent if our son could give them a sticker or candy. My son loved saying Happy Birthday to other children and we usually ended up having wonderful conversations while waiting in line.

I don't have a story - just wanted to say that I read the title of this thread and thought it said "Magic Mike for Other Guests"!!!! :rotfl2:
I read it 2 or 3 times and saw the same title every time so clicked it to see what it was about! Too funny!

I was in line for the 7 dwarfs at the Christmas party. Lots of time to kill since that line starts early. The couple next to me (turned out to be brother and sister, early 20-ish maybe?) were talking about their goal of seeing as many characters as possible that night and were wondering how to do it. I chimed in with the info I learned on here and my handy dandy Kenny the Pirate app (at the time). Helped them build a plan to hit as many character spots as possible. Hope they had a great time!

We had a bit of a hotel issue last trip and were compensated with 12 extra FPs (3 each for 4 people)for the next day. We used some but had a bunch left over as we were leaving the park. I went to the person running the FP line for A&E meet and greet and asked if I could scan them for some people in the stand by line. He said no problem. I took the last family from the line (mom dad and two little girls) and scanned them in, they were very grateful and it made me feel good.

A few years ago when they had the paper FP, we couldn't use our last one at TT so we walked over and found a couple that was talking about the wait times. We gave them our passes and they were beside themselves. That karma came back to us at a later date when we were the lucky recipients of someone's unused FP.

I like the dollar store glow stick bracelet idea.

I just remembered that I always take the time to get someone's attention in front of me if they dropped something. Especially if it's a little kid's stuffed animal.

I helped out a family in front of me and my son when we were waiting to meet Mickey Mouse at MK. They weren't sure how the FP+ system worked, and I showed them through the app. They were so grateful!

My son has also been on the receiving end of extra magic, the family behind us in line for 7DMT at MNSSHP last fall gave him so glow bracelets. He was so happy!

DH was picked to be an extra in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular AND was picked as "That Guy" in Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor. So many people recognized him after the shows and always started conversations with us. We made friends with a 5 year old boy who was staying at our resort and gave his parents a break by letting him talk our ears off on the bus ride to the resort. We ran into them again on the way back from a different park and his face lit up when he recognized us and he showed us all his souvenirs from the day. I feel like we all created reciprocal magic.

We ordered lunch one day at Pizza Planet, then checked our watches while waiting for our order and decided that we should instead head back to the resort to meet magical express to the airport because we weren't all that hungry anyway, we were just using up leftover dining plan credits. So we took just a bit of our large order to go, mostly Mickey head rice krispy treats and drinks, then turned and asked the next people in line if they would like the rest of our order, pizzas and other assorted foods (we hadn't handled it at all). They were grateful and thanked us profusely--it really was a lot of food!

I've done most of these except translate.......my French from high school 38 years ago wouldn't help a soul and it would only make things worse :)

Trash pick up - its a must for me, I do it at work, I do it at Disney! I don't know why people must throw trash on the ground since its a proven fact that there are more than enough trash cans in the parks!

I love to meet newbie pin traders esp. kids, not only will I answer questions if they ask but the kids in particular will walk away with extra pins to help them start trading - provided the parents approve! I have years of pins from trading and they can't all be displayed around the house (many are) and I would rather give them away for others to enjoy now then for me to look thru the boxes years from now and wonder why on earth I kept 1000's of pins :)

A few years ago when they had the paper FP, we couldn't use our last one at TT so we walked over and found a couple that was talking about the wait times. We gave them our passes and they were beside themselves. That karma came back to us at a later date when we were the lucky recipients of someone's unused FP.

In the days of legacy FP I would give away any I had as I was leaving a park if we called it quits early and didn't want to stay to use them. Sometimes it would be late in the evening before I could have return times for popular rides and I hated to waste them but there were days I just had to leave early, the gratitude displayed by the recipients made up for the sadness of leaving early!
