Had a look on Secret FLying facebook today...do not not why I torture myself but found these awesome deals...

can someone explain secret flyer to us?

never heard of them before and really don't get their "blog" style site

anyone ever booked these flights?

I did see the same price pop up elsewhere for Aus- Dallas on a more "known" site - maybe it was a secret deal from a direct subscription - I can't remember so that's no help to any of you who are interested sorry, but I thought if only.... although I am sure the one I saw included a short Feb-March flight period too not just before Xmas period. It might have been $100 dearer so $1117 but still very good.

I found them on facebook. They find cheap flight prices (either specials or price errors that are then usually honoured...these don't stay active for long though!) and post the links to the actual travel agent sites that are offering them. But most are only available for a short time.

They just alert you to the "specials" Thats where I got the link to buy the Qantas error fares SYD-LAX return for $600 odd US$. It linked me to priceline.com where I purchased the fares. Got a confirmation and selected my seats with Qantas and I'm good to go.

not sure if this a US (America) only thing or if it's the "policy" in Australia as well

not too long ago legislation was passed that airlines are not obligated to honor "mistake" fair pricing. We have booked a number of these types of cheap flights..only to be contacted by the airline later.
Saying the price was an error and that we can rebook at this price (with these xyz details) or they will cancel our original booking (with the cheap "mistake" price)

Secret Flying website have awesome new deals from Australia to USA http://www.secretflying.com/2016/02/massive-sale-from-australia-to-most-major-usacandian-cities But flying dates finish November...and I am still seeking that illusive December special lol But this might help some out, super cheap prices!!!
