I'm always paranoid that I'm gonna forget something! What do I need to get done before we leave?

There are two basic approaches. One is write a big list. You know.............. Passports - Magic Bands - Credit Cards - Take cat to Mother in Law's - Pack Sunscreen - Etc the list goes on for 235 items. The last one being - Remember to lock front door.

But I regard planning as being for wimps. So mine is - Air tickets, Magic Band - Credit Card - Have Fun.

Cheers Larry.

I'm the kind of person who gets paranoid about forgetting something when I'm driving all of ten minutes away to spend Saturday night gaming with friends, let alone when I'm flying across the country on an expensive trip. What I do is to make a (very) short list of Absolute Essentials. I have a full packing list, of course, but what really puts my mind at ease is to boil it down to the five or fewer items I must bring in order for the trip to go forward. Then I can have all of those things in my carry-on and check and re-check that I have them to my paranoid heart's content, safe in the knowledge that I have my Absolute Essentials and we can make do if I've forgotten anything else. Think things like IDs, travel paperwork, wallet, and your good walking shoes. Forgot underwear? Well, it'll be a bit time-consuming, but I promise they do sell underwear in Florida. Forgot your water bottle? Well, you're getting another Disney souvenir when you get there. Etc, etc.

Make sure any prescription medication is up to date and have enough for the trip. Make a small list of things that are important. Break in your shoes! Trust me you do not want to wear brand new shoes at Disney.

I have several lists. On top of this 8day trip we have in less than 10 days, our twins are turning five years old, 3 days before we leave. School starting, followed by birthday party and school birthday celebration, followed by trip making me extra paranoid. I have a list of to do's for each day next week and the packing list thats separated by luggage type (suitcase 1, 2, kids suitcases, carry-ons). Guess all I can do is check off as I go and then check again before leaving that morning. My biggest thing to remember is electronics, chargers, MNSSHP tickets, bands, my DH's benedryl and my prescription.

Besides making numerous lists (airplane bag list, suitcase list, park bag list, things to do before we leave, etc) ....I also check of items as I pack them. That way I'm not doubling back to check if I did indeed pack something or not. It saves this forgetful person a lot of wasted time!
