Alcoholic dole whips?

Epcot during Food and Wine. In Animal Kingdom Tamu Tamu has 2 types as well as just pineapple soft server for the kiddies. Trader Sam's has it as well.

If those locations aren't selling it for some bizarre reason then you can always buy a tiny bottle of run from the Poly gift shop and the a dole whip from the stand at the Poly and mix the two.

Tamu Tamu in AK

Also at one of the locations in WS during Food & Wine Festival

Perfect!! I know what I'm getting at Ak!!!

They also had a stand with regular rum and macademia nut rum at Epcot for Flower & Garden. Tamu Tamu seems to have it all of the time now.

We got it at Tamu Tamu in AK. You could choose from a coconut rum or a dark rum.

Note that the ones at the Food and Wine/Flower and Garden actually don't tend to be good: they dump the shot on top of the dole whip, which means your first flavor is 'Woah, RUM/or whatever' and then once you get done with that, the rest just tastes... normal. Disappointing.

Trader Sam's on the deck does a better version, from what I understand, in which the rum isn't just 'a shot on the top' but is actually swirled with it, but that's definitely a drink (as the dole whip and the rum are swirled together). Haven't tried Tamu Tamu.

So is the one at Trader Sam's like a smoothie you can drink through a straw? The one at Tamu Tamu had rum on bottom and then the dole whip from the machine, so still needed to eat it with a spoon.

ETA: the one at Trader Sam's - is that the Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum?

Nah. The one at Trader Sam's is called the 'Spiky Pineapple'. I don't want to hotlink photos, but if you type the name in to google, you'll see pictures of it: the Disney Food blog has a picture, too, if you backtrack to their reviews.

It is only served on the deck/patio, not inside the bar itself. This is oddly the only change: all other items can be found inside. It's basically a smoothie: all it is is the pineapple dole whip and a nice enough rum (plus a little orange slice and a cherry to look pretty). I actually haven't had it, but I have a friend who lives down in Orlando who adores it, and everything I've heard about it is good (if you like dole whips and rum): as the rum and the dole whip are blended together rather then the 'drop a shot on and thus have random rum soaking at the bottom of your soft serve'.

I've tried to recreate it with the Dole whip frozen yogurt from our local frozen yogurt shop, and added some rum, but it wasn't as good . Somehow when you're not at the parks drinking one it's just not the same.:sad2:

Could be that the dole whip in the park isn't frozen yogurt. It is non-dairy soft serve.

There is also a beverage stand on the Boardwalk that serves the shot of rum on top of the soft serve style of alcoholic dole whips. Once I stirred it up it was good but the Spiky Pineapple was the best by far.image.jpg
The last half of my first one.

My sister's Spiky Pineapple with my Pearl...

True, but my local frozen yogurt shop (Orange Leaf) serves the real Dole pineapple and orange whips even though they're not actually froyo.

I believe that's correct, I typed frozen yogurt in error - I don't think the Orange Leaf shop I go to has dairy in their trade marked Dole Whips. Still need to be in that Disney environment to enjoy it more thou!
