EPCOT Food and Wine Festival, Sept. 25 - Nov 16 2015

For anyone who booked one of the three Disney Visa cardholder events, does the event show in your MDE?

I hope your fiancee was given a confirmation number! It is a twelve digit number like all of your other ADRs. It could be that the event was simply booked and no reference was made to a linked ticket or to a resort reservation. If that is the case and one of you has the confirmation number, you can go on to your MDE and manually link the reservation. We booked the Making of the PFTS and it does show up in MDE, but I had to link it since I made the reservation under DH's name and the resort reservation is under my name.

If you cannot confirm online, then get on the phone and have things straightened out. There should be no tickets and nothing coming by mail. I don't even think I received an email to confirm our Chase private event. Check the credit card information on the card used to make the reservation. If the charge is there, some of that info could help them get this fixed.

Good luck!

I would definitely give Disney a call. We booked the Creation event too, and never received an email confirmation. The reservation appears like this in MDE:
"F&W Chase Private Event - The Creation of Food & Wine Marketplaces from Blueprints to Building"

We added an extra day this year so we could hit food and wine on our last day, Saturday the 26th..since it's the first Saturday of F&W do you think it will be crazy? We are foodies and my hubs is a chef so he really wants to take advantage of our time there. I just don't want him to be disappointed if we hit long lines. Also I tried to sift thru posts but I'm trying to find out more about these packages people have mentioned on here. Might be something to look into.

I went on the first day last year and it was totally mobbed (and also very hot). But we did not do the recommended touring plan (arrive early and plan breaks), so that's my own fault. I was pretty hot and a little cranky but we enjoyed the attractions and ended up snacking and drinking from quick service locations. I definitely won't be going in the heat of the day again this year on weekends.

The only package that would work is the sampler and since we don't even know what's "excluded" I am not sure I would recommend it. The Premium you read about doesn't work on weekends.

I have gone that day and it does get very crowded. This event is VERY popular with locals so....

My advice, be there at 11 AM ready to go. Sample until it gets too crowded and head out

DH and I just found flights that mean we head down a day earlier than expected. This means we'll get 2 days on our Premium package, not just 1! Yippie. I'm even more glad I booked it now. I know many think it's wasteful to not use it all 4 days but really the 2 we'll get will be of great benefit. It will give us a lot less to stand in line for on the much busier weekends. And we love the Illumination Dessert party. Now I need to see what events there are on Wednesday, in case there is one we want.

Does anyone know what the $200 F & W Gift Cards look like? Back a page or so, someone linked to the Disneycards site but I couldn't find any info on the special F & W card. I figure since I'll be spending $200 bucks anyway, I might as well get the lanyard :rolleyes1

I CAN use this card anywhere, right? Not just at F & W booths?

The only info I found posted about 2015 Epcot Food & Wine Festival official artwork is from DisBoard member ethanwa, who is pretty-much an expert on the art of MagicBands and their histories. He had a story about the special 2015 F&W Premium Package MagicBand at his website, magicband collectors .com. He had two pieces of artwork derived from 2015 F&W printed material. These might be preliminary pieces of art. The two pieces are in slightly different colors, but they indicate graphics, colors, type and layout. I take it to mean other materials for the festival will follow along the same themes.

The special F&W Festival 20th Anniversary Gift Card will have the lanyard and also a sleeve for the card. The gift card is decorated for the F&W festival but it's a regular Disney Gift Card usable for any purchase that accepts Disney Gift Cards for payment. This should mean also at The Disney Store and Disney online store, too, right? I think so. The special gift card should be reloadable, but there's no details about it yet.

I'm not much help but I could have sworn it was posted here too. Or at least a link to the items that will be for sale was posted and it was shown on one of those. I thought it was on the food blog too. I'll see if I can find it again

AngiTN, the pieces you saw recently were probably from 2014. They were overall orange-yellow as the main color. I've read everything there is about 2015 F&W, and I've seen nothing about 2015 F&W artwork and colors. See my post above for a hint about what art and type might look like from DisBoard member ethanwa.

There was a link yesterday but it was to disney's page and it describes it but doesn't have a picture

This is what was thinking of. But it doesn't not have the LE gift card after all
But does have other things

AngiTn, that's a great post from DFB. That artwork and type is different from what I wrote from ethanwa. Maybe his info isn't the most recent. Sorry if I caused confusion. I'd love the salt & pepper set. I have some plates with wine holder like shown. They're handy to walk around with, if you don't have space to set down your food. Sometimes an Epcot trash can is the only surface around (unless you have the Premium Package).

Can AP holders report in when the special wine glasses are gone? I would love to get one, but since I can't get there until the weekend of the Wine & Dine Half I'm 99% sure they'll be gone - especially since reading in the Mickey Monitor it is not just one per pass holder, but you can just keep going back and getting three stamps and get another for every three stamps. Still, IF they are still available, I can hit EPCOT after the expo and before resting to get my stamp on Saturday. But if they're gone, I won't bother hitting a park on Saturday.
Thanks!

I love those wine glasses, but we're also not going to Wine & Dine weekend so I'm afraid we'll probably be SOL, which is so, so sad!

We've decided to not do the dining plan while we are at F&W either!:cheer2: CAN'T WAIT!:drinking1:dance3:

Yay! :yay:

I checked it out & it's a "tier 1" FP so i dumped my Test Track FP to get it. Some ppl from the parks blog are saying they can't book this further than 30 days out. i'm in the 30 day window so i guess it might be true?

I would not give up Soarin' for Eat to the Beat and it annoys me that it's Tier 1 because there is so little that even needs a FP at Epcot it would have been nice for them not to mess with the two rides that necessitate it!

I always have either an annual pass or a hopper - so I can and do hop. I might start the day at Epcot and go to F&W as soon as the booths open, have lunch by grazing at the booths, then hop somewhere else. Other days I start my day at another park and hop over to Epcot in the afternoon to enjoy dinner at the booths and IllumiNations. Helpful hint: If you're hopping from MK or AK over to Epcot for F&W, don't take the Epcot transportation. Take the bus to either Beach Club or BoardWalk then enter at the World Showcase entrance. That way you don't have to walk all through Future World. If you're hopping from DHS, take the boat.

Best advice EVER! Why did I not think of this! Thank you! :worship:

Can anyone who's experienced the beverage seminars tell me how long they last and what they consist of. (I'm sure this has probably been asked before so I'm sorry.) I was look at the wineries that are there when we are and two of them interest me. I don't know that I'd do both, but at $15 pp I thought it could be interested for us to attend one. (We went wine tasting for our honeymoon and this is our first time away without kids since!) I thought it might be a nice surprise for my husband, but wasn't sure what they entailed. TIA!

They last about 45 minutes - I think I have some reviews of them in my signature.

You will get at least 3 small samples of the wines (maybe 4 depending on the seminar)

You will have the rep from the winery talk to you about the company and tastings of the wines.

I hadn't noticed that tray with glass holder when I looked at this the first time......I wonder how big the "plate/tray" is? For the most part aren't the wine samples from the booths in disposable cups or are they in the disposable plastic wine glasses? We may have to invest in these trays....I wonder how much they are? I'm also wondering if that 20 year pin could be the one they give away with the Sampler package? Probably not but I would consider that package if it was. I keep saying I'm not a pin collector but I sure do have a lot of pins :ssst: We're going to have to manage our use of snack credits at the booths. I want to get my money's worth out of them. I will probably just use a regular Disney gift card for purchases but I plan to doll it up a bit and maybe even punch a hole in it for bungee cord purposes. I still have lanyards with pockets for the "olden days" of key cards or I may just use my magic band and pay it off with the gift cards at our resort. So many things to think about!

I bought the tray last year, you can fit about 2 food items in it and the wine glasses are the disposable plastic ones

The "wine plates" I have are 8" across. I'm guessing the Epcot plates are about that size, too. That's a little smaller than a lunch/salad plate. The Epcot plate has both the hole for a glass stem, and a lip to help balance a regular cup. But I'd be leery of trying to hold the plate with one hand, cutting a bite of food with the other, and hoping a stem-less regular glass stays balanced. My plates can hold 2 Epcot food items, too, like Tozzie said.

Thanks to those who responded. Finally had time to call and it turns out they had her e-mail incorrect. Looks like it's all set now!
