1 Room 4 People?!?

We did Pop Century with our two and each parent shared a bed with a child. It worked okay for us then because we spent 90 percent of our time in the parks.

We would not have it any other way:) We really enjoy being together during our vacations and have not even thought about getting a suite to be separate from each other. Heck we actually stayed at a value with myself, DW, DD(infant) my sister and my 16 year old niece and had a fantastic time. Our family tries to make the best out of all situations and not dwell on if the room is to small or this or that. I will say that both our DDs fall asleep very well and once they are sleeping, DW and I can watch TV, talk and get ready for the next day without worrying about them waking up. We are not a big fan of full size beds and will try to stay at resorts with queen beds, but it is not a deal breaker for us if we cannot.

You are all awesome!! Thanks so much for the responses! I think we'll go for it and try staying with us all in 1 room at a value. I'm keeping an eye on the prices on offsite just in case, but I really want to stay onsite! I think you all are right that we'll be so tired, we'll all just pass out at the end of the day, we have an one hour time difference against us too.

My kids are 12 and 18, and we do it, no problem. Sometimes DH sleeps with DS and I sleep with DD, and sometimes one of the kids will take the bed and the other will take the floor. It has never been a problem for us. There is no way I am paying for a second hotel room when there's plenty of room for everyone in one. We generally only spend a short amount of time in the room when we are on vacation anyway. If we were doing something that we thought we might want to spend a lot of time in the room, then I would rent a condo and we would have a LOT of space.

We have stayed in the same room (not at Disney) as a family of 6 no problem! At Disney we stayed in the same room with our 7 and 9 year olds with no issue as well.

You certainly could do it depending on if you believe your family will be comfortable...the rooms are small and the beds are too. My hubby doesn't even fit into those beds being tall, (6'7) he would not be able to share one with someone else that's for sure!

This is the sole reason we're staying at a mod. Both DH and DS are well over 6 feet. We need the bigger beds.

Am I crazy to think that we can all vacation together happily in one hotel room? At the time of our trip, we'll have a 7 year old and a 5 year old (plus me and DH). We are planning on staying at a value. We've stayed before, but it was pre-kids. I've never stayed off-site, but might be open to it if it makes sense financially.

When the rooms were $65 a night we stayed the three of us in each room. But prices went up way over $110 or more a night once they put a fridge and free internet in. It was crowded but we were at Disney. Then we made a last minute trip and stayed off site in a ground floor condo. Followed by a week at Windsor Hills last year and that was a Vacation! For half the cost of of our onsite hotel, $599 and $75 cleaning fee for a three bedroom, three bath, private closed in pool and washer/dryer on site was heaven. It was Mickey themed, King bed in master, twins and a double. Plus, the sofa was a bed too.

For me there was no crowding in four walls, Dad's snoring didn't disturb anyone but me, who was snoring in harmony. It was one exit past the last resort exit and 15 minutes from the parks. I always rent a car because we pick up groceries and eat off site anyway. It was so quiet, clean, gated and relaxing. I felt like we were in an expensive hotel suite.

I think I was brain washed I had to stay onsite for the kids and grandkids. But, it is my vacation too, and we never rode the buses anyway.

Renting DVC points is a great idea. You could get a 1 bedroom unit and have plenty of room. Some 1BR units sleep 5, which is nice if you have kids who don't like to sleep together in the same bed (like mine). One goes on the sofa bed and one on the sleeper chair or pullman bed.

We're about to have 6 people in one room at POR. One is an infant, so this is doable. We'll have the baby in a PNP, me and hubby in one bed. The girls in another bed. And my son in the pull down bed. I'm not too concerned, as others have said - the room is pretty much for sleeping.

We are a family of 4 and we stay in the same room. Some times DH and I will end up each with a kid in our bed. We don't find it uncomfortable at all. But if you are concerned about it maybe check out a family suite.

We did it twice - once at POR and once offsite. Our kids were 11, 7, and 5 the first time, and 13, 9, and 7 the next. It worked for us!

My family of 4 has stayed at value resorts with no problem. However you might want to consider bringing a shower curtain to put up by sinks to give some privacy when changing. Space isn't an issue.

We are planning on having 4 in a room. Each grownup will share a bed with one of the boys. There would be no sleep for anyone if they shared a bed. My DH sleeps like a rock, a snoring rock, and will be sharing with the bed hog child who ends up perpendicular.

I'm pretty sure you can request bed rails if you need them.

We stayed at POP with our two kids and didn't really have a problem. But, we don't spend a lot of time in our room so it was purely for sleeping. Last year we stayed at CBR in a refurbished room. That was nice, a bit larger and had the pull-down bed my DD6 slept in.

We did Pop 2 years ago and are planning to do Sports in April with the 4 of us in a room (Me, DH, 5 y/o DS, 7 y/o DS). I'm in the "we are only in the room to sleep" camp and the double beds work just fine for us....mainly b/c it usually ends up one kid and one adult in each bed and we are exhausted by the end of day. I might consider the moderates as they get older b/c we'll likely use more of the amenities and need the extra space, but for now the values work.

Yes, you can get bed rails - we did last time in 2014.

Pop Century has a privacy curtain, not sure about the other values?

We have 2 kids and do Values no problem. Also did Moderates when the beds were double, not queen, and that was fine too. The rooms are designed for 4 people to start out with...
