First time renter question

Hi, so much good information here for folks like me who are dipping our toes into DVC for the first time. I have rented two rooms at OKW in December through a DVC third-party broker. All has gone well with that experience and I don't need to change anything associated with those reservations. My family, however, has discussed getting an additional Studio during our stay to better accommodate our group. I checked with my Broker and they have nothing available, and I checked with a second broker who also had no availability. My question is this: does this mean there are no Studios available to book with DVC points at all? Or just that those brokers do not have any DVC members with points available for my request? I realize I am almost at 90days out from our trip so there may just be nothing available. But I'm just trying to determine if I should stop looking, or if I need to look into renting points directly from a DVC member. I appreciate any advice/information. The good news is, we already have enough rooms to have a great, family-get-together vacation. An additional room would be a luxury. Thanks!

Its likely that nothing is available. December is a high usage period and DVC resorts generally book 100% full year round (it just depends on how fast - for December, its fast).

You might be able to book a DVC studio for cash through Disney. The inventory is separate.

Unless your trip is only 1 night OKW does not have points availability. I did find it had availability for times through Disney which will be more expensive but you could do. I would say that if you have near HH booked for your studios the other 1 will not be nearby, The nice thing is that OKW has larger rooms than other studios.

Thank you all for the information! Looks like we'll stick with what we have and my sister and nephew will have to be ok with sleeping in the Living Room of our 2-bedroom villa.

Since you are just about 90 days away it's almost certainly an availability issue and not a "no points" issue. Points are pretty much worthless if there is no availability. Glad you have a workable back up plan. :)

P.S. Availability for early December DVC accomodations disappears very rapidly once you get more than a few days past the 7 month window, especially for studios.
