BOG Advice?

So we went to Disney last December and I scored a lunch FP for BOG I was super excited as we had a great time for lunch. Well we ended up having to wait like it seemed forever still to get in. I want to say we waited at LEAST 35 minutes. Just standing in line first outside and then inside mainly. Once we ordered our food it wasn't to bad as we sat down and it came pretty quick. I remember the food being decent nothing amazing but good. Is it worth trying for dinner one night at MK while were there on our next trip. I would love to see the beast (is he always there and does everyone get to see him) and will we have to wait that long time again with a reservation for dinner. Thanks in advance :)

BOG waits can be pretty crazy even with a dining reservation. I was there last week for lunch and also had the big line that you spoke of. I've eaten there for all three meals and out of the three dinner had the smallest wait of about 15 minutes. The Beast does roam around for dinner, however this is NOT like other character meals where he stops at the table to sign autographs, pose for pictures etc. I sat in the West Wing for dinner and every 20 minutes or so he would walk in the room, wave and walk back out. You do have a chance to meet him and take photos once you have finished your meal and there is a Photopass photographer. When you check in they will point out the location to meet him.

The beast is not always there, but he is there every night for dinner...although not guaranteed. He comes and goes, taking rest breaks sometimes, and you have to stand in line after your meal is finished to meet him. With a reservation, you shouldn't have that long of a wait.

Ok great thanks!! That's ok it's not a normal character meal but getting a pic with him my kids would love!!!

We had a dinner reservation last July. When we checked in, they told us all ressies were right on time- no waiting past reservation time. Our reservation was at 6:45. We checked in at 6:40. By 6:55, I asked again about how long the wait was past reservation time. They told me they were running right on time. I explained that they could not be running on time because we had already waited 10 past minutes past our reservation time. After I pointed this out, they called us a couple of minutes later. Not a big deal, but time does pass very slowly when you are standing out in the sun, hot and hungry.

That being said, the dinner food far surpasses the lunch food. Delicious Ratatouille and Shrimp and Scallops. The atmosphere is also quite different than lunch. It feels much more elegant. If you have never done dinner, it is worth trying.
