Question about the Soarin' announcement

I kinda wish it was Soarin' Across America, from the deserts of Arizona to the skyscraper canyons of Manhattan, the plains of the Midwest, Louisiana's swamps, the monuments of Washington DC, Mount Rushmore, the beaches of Hawaii, the glacier peaks of Alaska, etc.

I'm in agreement with the DISUPLUGGED team...
With the move to Digital technology, it will allow easier transition and optimal archiving of the older version of the ride. And the idea that it would come for special events makes sense.

My question about it all, is...
Will the Soarin' Around the world soundtrack be a NEW composition, or will they use the original score and just possibly re-tool it for the new film?
Personally, if it IS going to be a new score, it's gonna have a tough go at it, because the music for Soarin' is damn near perfection!!! :)

Almost all movies now are digital. Getting harder to get film anymore.

I agree. The music is so darn good!

What would really be great is if the new movie was done similar to Star Tours - basically, several different ride experiences. That would definitely keep it fresh for many years.

I was having the same discussion with my wife earlier this week. I would probably miss the score more than the movie. The original music was composed by Jerry Goldsmith, so not even like he can re-tool the music since he has since passed away. Though I would love if they got Michael Giacchino to rework it. He's done a ton of excellent stuff for both Disney and Bad Robot and both done reworking of classic scores (for MI:3 and Star Trek as well as Jurassic World) and also done theme park stuff - including the re-done Star Tours as well as the French Ratatoullie ride, so I would trust him to take what Goldsmith wrote and update it.

I didn't even know it was Jerry Goldsmith until now! No wonder why I love the music so much on that ride! I will really miss that music.

While a new score, is probably going to be what happens, I also think that if they wanted to, they could totally re-mix the original score and add in additional hits, bumps, or length, if they needed to.

As I said before...any new score is really going to have an uphill battle in popularity amongst Disney veterans.

Thinking about the possibility that the score is going away, is making me thinking about another song, that I kinda miss...
The score to Magic, Memories, and you.
