Book UK free dining from US for 2016?

Has anyone had luck booking free dining for 2016 through the UK website living in the US? I would love to take advantage of the free dining, 30% off Saratoga, free memory maker, and $100 gift card. Just trying to save quite a few bucks.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I can get a 2 bedroom through the UK site for a better price than most likely a standard room at POR at that time. Seems unfair that they can book US deals but we can't book the UK deals.

It costs a heck of a lot more to get to the US from the UK, so their discounts are better. They stay longer too. It evens out.

The US deals cost them more to book, so who cares?

Next fall, our friends from the UK will be joining us. Hmmm. I've never thought of this option.

That's when I was looking to go. Late October/Early November 2016. I would definitely look into this. Some of the deals that could be had are really good. I've been working numbers from every angle; renting points, potential free dining during those dates, split stays, etc. and it is by far the best deal.

Do we get a deal if we were to go to Disney in Paris, Hong Kong, or Tokyo...NOPE! Just sayin'.
Actually, anyone can book deals for Disneyland Paris through the French, UK, or Irish websites. DLP sends everything electronically -- nothing is sent in the mail -- so it doesn't matter where you live. Don't know about the other Disney parks, though.

Are you spending two weeks or more there? Nope.

It's pretty easy to figure out the economics of it all. Americans aren't going to spend the same kind of money to go to Disney Paris or while in the area as UK folks do here.

Wow. You really love the fight don't you. I wasn't trying to turn this into a fight or debate, but let's have some fun. It was simply a question as to if someone was able to get this deal. By bringing something up and asking a question, that hasn't already been asked a hundred times on this board, potentially other people can save some of their hard earned money by shopping "smart" and thinking outside of the box. Something I hope Jeapgurl and other lurkers on the board can take advantage of. There's nothing illegal or unethical about it at all. It's an advertised rate. It's not using a coupon generator or any other means to steal from Disney. It's not all about the money, as it is the principle of it all. All I'm saying is that if one party can benefit from "A", all parties should be able to benefit from "A". As simple as that. People flying from the west coast are paying close to or just as much to fly to Orlando than people flying from the UK.

But to answer your question, yes my wife and I go there for 13-15 days every other year depending on our finances at that time. I know I'm not the except to the rule as many people do travel to Disney for more than just a week. I do appreciate your feedback as I do enjoy a good debate.

I regularly stay 10-14 days. How would you know how long disconfused is planning on staying? Have you checked out the UK site, yourself, or are you just making assumptions? I did check it out. You don't have to book for 14 days to get a discount.

disconfused, ignore the haters. This board is full of snarky jerks, but also tons of good info. The good info almost makes it worth putting up with the jerks. Almost.

Disney has never stated why they discount more heavily for UK visitors, of course, but the general consensus is that, on average, most US visitors don't spend more than a week at Disney, whereas UK visitors generally stay for longer periods of time, because their flights are so expensive (and because they have more vacation time than the typical American).

I agree that it's frustrating that US visitors can't book those great deals, but Disney's done the math and has figured out that it's profitable for them to heavily discount for the UK in order to get their business.

Hi Jeapgurl - Yes, if your UK friends are planning on joining you then there should be no reason why they can't add you to their room reservation. And if you're not looking at sharing say a 2-bed at SSR/OKW and want separate rooms then your friends would need to make separate reservations as it states....

Can I book more than one room per reservation? We are currently unable to book multiple rooms under one reference, therefore you would need to make separate reservations.
Enjoy the joint planning and hope you can make it work for you.

Sorry Disconfused, unless you have family or friends in Europe then it's a non-starter.

But for those who either have a family member or friend serving in the military and based in Europe, or studying at a University or on a job secondment in Europe then this might be an option worth exploring.

A few things to consider

The contract would need to be made with the European resident, so they would be the lead name, have a European billing address and of course be joining you on the vacation.

Normally, travel documents are mailed to the billing address approximately 2 weeks before departure.

The UK T&C’s are different to the US T&C’s so ensure you read them first, especially on the cancellation policy which is very different. http://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/help/terms-conditions/

European’s are more likely to book their vacation at least 12-months in advance; hence the free dining offer for 2016 will be ending in less than 2-months on 20th October 2015.

A £50 deposit per person is required with the balance payable 8 weeks before departure.

Residents from 28-European countries can book through the UK web site, if your country is not listed it states...

Sorry, we can only take payment within the European Union. If you reside outside of the European Union please visit your local travel provider for information on Walt Disney World or to book your holiday.

There's a minimum 5-night stay for the free dining offer with a maximum of 21-nights.

There's actually two web sites, one for the Brit's quoted in £ British Pounds and an Irish site quoted in Euro's.

http://www.disneyholidays.co.uk/walt-disney-world/

https://www.disneyholidays.ie/walt-disney-world/

And here's a link to the 2016 offer on the Irish site that includes free dining...

Good luck Disconfused, hope you can find some alternative offers for 2016 and you might want to check UK-Expedia in late December/early January as hopefully they might repeat their previous room-only discounts. In the meantime check out this thread to see if it the UK-Expedia option could work for you........http://www.disboards.com/threads/di...y-offer-on-uk-expedia-ended-31-march.3222577/

The average guest doesn't stay or attend Disney in Europe like a European. It's not that hard to figure out why the discounts are different.

No sense on anyone getting. Bent out of shape on "fairness" when there's a bazillion other factors. I didn't say they had to stay that length of time, but that's WHY discounts for them are better. It's also why they have a 14 day ticket option and we don't.

Lol @ haters. Buzzword of the decade.

Everyone should be eligible for every discount would eliminate military, Florida, and other discounts. Canadians get a longer booking period than Americans.

They're business decisions. It's nothing personal, certainly not "unfair." If you qualify great. I didn't say anything about it being unethical. There's just not really a debate on the premise of everything being fair.

Isn't there a thread on here about booking online with UK Expedia? Some people have gotten some great deals through that. Now that I have realized that I have a no foreign transactions fee credit card, I might just keep an eye on it.

there was a thread on the Budget Board. I think that deal has ended at least for now.

Can I just say...OMG to the length of the free dining promotion? January 1-November? Even if it's select dates...I wish the US would get even close to that availability! I'm wondering why they offer FD for that long (almost a whole year) but FD here is like the Hunger Games. I get they stay longer, but that's due to the fact they get a heck of a lot more holiday then US citizens. We were talking to a couple on the bus who said one of their family members "only" got 21 days of holiday a year. I was like "ummm what?" Many workers in our country are lucky to get 14 days and even then they have to beg/borrow/steal to get approved sometimes.
