I had 2 reservations I made in June-July through Alamo using Visa code and Vegas Brazil code. BIL flies in night before us and we had not decided who would pick up the rental van. Today my rate dropped from 404 to 325 for 7 passenger minivan from Nov 18th-Nov 27th. Florida surcharge was on both original ressies and on new, rebooked one too.

Does it show CDW as bring included?

It does NOT. I saw your post last night and looked to see if it was on mine...did not see it. Double-checked just now before replying.

That's crazy! I just tried booking again and it still comes up with the CDW!

I agree with you....it's crazy that I'm not seeing it and you are!

different cars have the CDW, the premium full size cars have it but the regular full size did not, check around with different groups

Can someone please explain to me the concern over the CDW inclusion using the vegas brazil code?

Thanks!!

In my opinion it's too risky - given you aren't 'actually' booking through Vegas Brazil, if anything happened and the CDW was covered under their policy or something I would assume you could be liable, and in big trouble. I'm a bit of a worry wart though!

In agreement with PP, others have worried/simply stated that since you are really using a promo code that is meant for travel agency but are not truly booking through that agency...if an accident were to happen, you would NOT be eligible for the CDW coverage. Furthermore, your personal insurance would not cover the damages since the CDW usually voids that coverage. I haven't seen any reports of issues using the promo. Alamo has honored it in all who have traveled and reported but now CDW is popping up in some vehicle classes.

Thanks, would it make any difference if I phoned and asked them if I was eligible for the code and they said yes and I made the booking on the phone with them? Hypothetically, speaking of course ;)

I can't answer that, really. I can only tell you what I've seen others report, as I researched this a good bit for our Thanksgiving trip.

1. Most (not all) have reported that, upon a phone call, Alamo reps have stated it would be honored (that they were allowed to use it) as it was a valid promo code.
2. Even more comments from people who state it is a BAD idea to call and/or email Alamo, b/c then they shut down the promo code. Folks with way more experience than I have report this has happened in the past with other codes, both on the Dis and other forums I've read over.
3. You still run the risk of the CDW being on your reservation, getting in an accident, and being financially responsible for any and all damages. A rep helping you book by phone won't change that red tape.

What class of vehicle are you looking at renting? It's not showing up on some people's reservations. Have you tried to book yet to see if it pops up on the type of car you want?

Costco has great rates for November with Budget. Just got a rate of 138.12 for 8 days for a Fullsize car!

I'm going 11/12 to 11/19 picking up/returning to MCO. 1 week, 3 hours.

I originally booked Alamo through Costco. Premium car was about $20 more so I booked that but it was over $300. I checked a few weeks ago and got it down to $245. Checked booking right with Alamo a few days ago (using $30 coupon) and booked a Full size for $135. Just checked again tonight and have it down to $128.68 less than through Costco.

My Alamo reservation is down significantly, although it is in a different car class. I am using the $30 off code and a pass holder code. My old reservation was $214 for a mid-size SUV and I was just able to book a full size for $146. November 13th-22nd

DH won't be thrilled to go from an SUV to a sedan, but for $70 I am guessing he'll be okay. Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be an SUV on the full size line!

This will be our first time using Alamo insider when we go to Disney. If I have a full size car reserved, do we just go to the full size aisle and if there is an SUV we can take that at the same rate, is this correct? Has anyone seen SUV's on the full size aisle at MCO?
thanks

I have not really seen too many SUVs on the Alamo full-size aisle. One time we did get one, but that was an isolated incident. I have seen a few minivans too. Mostly it will be Impalas, 200s, Camrys, Avengers, and the like. You can take anything that they put on the aisle though!

Check your rates with alamo insider and visa discount my full size car dropped from 161 to $118!!! woohoo!
