Once in a Lifetime Adventure, Again! ~ PTR

No! I had a ADR for breakfast booked for Tusker House, but had a FP+ for the Safari first thing. I cancelled the ADR over the FP+, and had it in my head to try Tusker House another day and never did.

Would really love to book the Wild Africa Trek, so thinking I could do a ADR for Tusker House before the Trek if the times work out right!

On a side note, my brother is flying out today and I am secretly quite jealous, which sounds awful!

You know that means? Tomorrow, you'll be LESS than a year to go! Whoop whoop! (I found that more exciting, when my ticker started reading 11 months, etc!)

Just noticed its not long until you are at the 10 month mark @BudgieMama !

My brother's 2 weeks are up tomorrow. He says it is hot, and for a non-thrill ride seeker, he is really enjoying it.

It's been a loooonnng time since I last posted onto my PTR! It just shows you how time flies.

DBF & I are back last week from a lovely few days in Paris. He had never been before and had a great time.

Our dates from flights have now opened up, and we have hit a glitch already. Our preference was to fly direct from Dublin this year, after our disaster last year with missing our connection due to a late arrival back into Gatwick on the way home.

Flying direct from Dublin with Aer Lingus, which is our first choice, and they have no flights on 31/08/2016 or coming home on 21/09/2016. So it looks like we may have to change our dates to 03/09/2016 to 24/09/2016.

Still looking around at prices for our current dates, but this means connections which we would prefer to avoid this time around!

:rolleyes::scratchin

I love Paris! Did you happen to stop by DLP? :earboy2: Not long for you guys now, bet you can't wait!

Thanks guys!

No, didn't stop at DLP this time. Many next time!

The countdown is flying in, but it looks like our dates will change to 10th Sept to 1st Oct!

How come you might be changing your dates? Well you'll be right in the swing of things with F&W and Halloween decorations around!

We will be at POFQ the same time as you next year - only for a few days with your new dates!

We did the Wild Africa Trek on our honeymoon - it was amazing!

There are no flights available with Are Lingus (our preference) and it was working out far more expensive to fly from Gatwick with Virgin Atlantic! :sad1:

We did the Halloween party last year and we thought it was brilliant! Will def be doing it again next year! Oh, I have forgotten about F&W!

Ya! We love POFQ! :flower1:

Another flight update. Phoned Disney yesterday, and spoke to a friendly & excitable girl! Managed to get my dates changed without any issues or extra cost. Flights have now been booked with Aer Lingus, and have worked out about £490 each return. That is direct from Dublin and we will also be able to use the US Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin too. Unfortunately, it was working out at about £780ish to fly via Gatwick.

That's a great price! Bet you're glad the flights are now booked and yay for Disney for being so co-operative and being able to change your dates free of charge!

I know! Its a relief and it feels real now that the flights are booked! Yes, the only charge is if the cost of the holiday had of decreased and I think it is an admin fee you have to pay!

224 days to go! And, January is almost over!

Starting to think more about the things I want to plan. Airport bus tickets & hotel. When to stay at Universal (thinking 1 night in Cabana Bay). When to slot in a visit to Busch Gardens. Not sure if we will do KSC again.

But I have started to give some serious consideration to renting a car for a few days. I have spent a little time researching the "do's & don'ts" of driving in America, and so far, it doesn't sound too bad. All the articles & comments I have read say how much easier it is than driving here at home. Nearer the time I will probably post a few questions and advice on the Planning board, but it is something we are giving thought too.

I have also started following the Disney Food Blog on Instagram, and oh my! Some serious food planning might be required for this trip! :cake::cloud9:

How fast is time flying! 6 Days to go until we hit the 6 months mark!

I have come home from work to an email from the WDTC saying I can now starting booking my ADRs! Eek! I have definitely lost track of time.

Time to start planning ADRs, and suggestions of places to try are welcome.

OK, so Disney's email was quite right. ADRs aren't ready to be booked for another week, but that's ok. I think the email may have not taken into account the change of dates a few months back.

On a brighter note, I had a look at some of the DR options, and we are definitely going to use QS credits for breakfast at BOG. The lunch menu isn't offering us anything we would be too interested in trying, but the Disney Food Blog has a full write up on the whole breakfast menu, which we are definitely going to try!

So the first week of our stay has now opened for ADRs, and I have got a breakfast ADR made for Be Our Guest, on our 2nd day!

Very excited, definitely looking forward to try BOG and using a QS credit for the breakfast which seem to be $25 each!
