Genius!! Wish I would've though of it

Sony Alpha users!! Does anyone have the SonyE PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens??? I'm thinking of making the switch from DSLR to mirrorless and I'm thinking Sony a6000 + SELP18105G + SEL1018 may be a good set-up for me. :)

Thanks!!

Seems like an above-average lens in total quality. I know the 10-18 is well thought of for a kit ultra wide.

But I'd throw in a prime for when you need faster aperture.

On a positive note about the future of the Sony Alpha mirrorless.... dpreview just posted a review of the LOW LIGHT AF capability of the A7rii, traditionally a big weakness of mirrorless cameras. They concluded that it's actually better than most dSLRs. A tiny bit of me is envious of Sony Alpha e-mount shooters.

Don't have it but an online friend of mine does. He really likes it and recently took it to WDW with some nice results. TalkEmount.com is a nice resource for emount examples. In fact they are currently highlighting some pics I took with the SEL 10-18. :)

Thanks @fractal!! Whichever set-up I go with - sticking with my Canon stuff or switching to mirrorless - I have GOT to get an UWA lens. Love those shots!

I debated between the fisheye and the 10-18 and went the fisheye just out of sheer lust for a specialty lens :)

DD and wife have become absolutely disgusted with amount of pictures I've been taking so I'm offically banned from shooting them...on to Disney "street" photography :)

I really liked this shot with the 55-210

After driving myself nuts trying to decide if I should try out a mirrorless camera and whether I should get the kit lens or something different, I grabbed a Sony a6000 with the kit lens today!

I've only taken a few shots with it so far - definitely going to take some getting used to after using a DSLR for 5+ years but I think I like it so far. It's shocking how quickly it focuses!

I didn't try to fix this in Lightroom or anything, so I'd say it's not bad for straight out of the camera!

I took these two with the 55-210 (underrated lens in my opinion)

What I like about the A6000 + the 8mm FE vs. the NEX-7 + 8mm FE is the absence of purple vignetting. It's a constant battle in PP.

Boy do I need a windfall of some kind,
Sony A7R II: Focus Accuracy Better than Any DSLR I’ve Ever Used
Something strange happened on my recent trip: I did not see any mis-focused images from the Sony A7R II. I mean, none.
Try doing that with a Nikon D810 or Canon 5DS R with an autofocus lens—I have and never come close,
as past autofocus assessments show.

Its still just so expensive. Maybe in a year or two once the price drops i can swing this camera.

I hear you on that! Also hoping for this tech to trickle down to lesser models. I know I don't need 4K and not even sure of Full Frame.
