Disgusting guest behavior in Jungle Cruise line

Changing a kid on a bench, during a show? I'm finding it hard to believe the other guests around her said "sure! strip your kid, lay him on the bench and stink up the joint!" I'm also pretty sure if she had taken the kid out, saw a CM and explained she would've been shown where the nearest bathroom was and some helpful directions to re-enter the show. I'm sure Disney wouldn't penalize a mom for changing a diaper in the proper place.

One time we were seated for the Lion King show and it was minutes away from starting. I realized that my son had just had a blow out and if I didn't change him immediately it would leak through his clothes. We were in the front row. I asked the people sitting behind me if they would be offended by me changing his diaper and they said it was ok. I know it wasn't the most ideal situation, but they would not have re-admitted me to the show if I left.
I just want to point out no where does this poster say she changed the child on the bench.

I'm curious what the other possibilities were then? Strollers are left outside. I guess the floor, but for someone who didn't like the idea of a changing table, I can't imagine they'd like the floor any better.

Maybe her DH held the baby up and she changed the diaper "in the air". The FACT is, she doesn't state she changed the diaper on the bench, but a number of people assumed that's what happened.

And where else would you change a "blowout". Personally I would prefer a room that could be hosed down later, but that's not always possible.

GoofyDisneyDad is living in the 90's. Those disposable changing pads come in cool prints now. Mickey or Princess ones appropriate for Disney World.

That was the first one that came up on a google image search. I'll look for those Disney prints when I get ready to pack my backpack though. I can hardly wait to start passing them out with a stern look of disapproval.

Well, let's see. Most of us making these wild hair "assumptions" are mothers accustomed to the usual methods of diaper changes. The OP was complaining about changing tables ( flat, horizontal surfaces) and her baby. Not her toddler or older child. She was already seated in the show. A baby cant stand upright to have its diaper changed and its diaper region properly cleaned. There are only 2 horizontal surfaces available at that location: the bench and the floor. The OP was freaking out about how unsanitary the changing tables are, so is it really an illogical assumption that she might hesitate to place her baby on the floor? Which leaves the bench. Assumption or deduction? Hmm?

You know I would have rather seen this person change the diaper there. Where I used to work I used to have to clean bathrooms and let me say some of them were the most disgusting issues I ever had to with and I am sure they were done by older people and not a baby. You don't want me to describe it here as the diaper change would be very minor. And if you walked into the bathroom you would have gone outside and changed the diaper.

As bad as bathrooms can get though, at least they are regularly cleaned for potential feces contamination. The benches in FOTLK probably are not.

This thread is priceless. I will admit we were that family with a stinky kid in a show once on our trip last week. DD2 decided to do her business at some point while waiting for Turtle Talk with Crush. She was walking around looking at the fish while we waited, so DW & I didn't know she'd done it until we sat down in the theater. It was the last show of the night & she was totally into it so we didn't want to make her leave. (We went to the bathroom & changed her as soon as it was over.) So sorry to anyone who was in the 8:40pm show of Turtle Talk last Monday & caught a whiff of my kid's stinky diaper.

PS - This is the best invention and every parent of a diaper-wearing child should have one: http://www.skiphop.com/product/prontochangingstation.html

She was probably thinking no one wanted to sit by a stinky kid for the whole ride, and if it was summer I am sure the lines were long and they wanted to make sure to get on the ride. Maybe they had an ADR maybe the grandmothers had to leave and this was the only ride they wanted to ride. You don't know her entire reasoning for doing what she did, so you really should not judge. Its poop not nuclear waste and the kid was 2ish so more then likely he/she likes being naked anyway and really didn't care that people saw. I am sure the whole process took less then a minute was over and done and people went on their way. Holding up the line was really inconsiderate of the family, but changing the kid out of a dirty diaper, eh.

I don't agree. Changing a diaper was very inconsiderate. Why should people be subjected to feces if they don't want to be? This is what bathrooms and in a pinch, very out of the way places are for.
