Hi everybody, I was wondering if anybody has tried the Madame Tussaud's and Orlando EYE recently. If we had a spare afternoon would you recommend it?? Travelling with my DH, DS (8) and DD (11). She LOVES One Direction, Taylor Swift, etc and as we are travelling from South Africa and have nothing like that here at home it seems like something nice to do with the kids? DH and myself have done some other ones (London, Las Vegas and New York) Thoughts on this?? Thanks a mill and have a great day!!:flower1:

We have been to Madame Tussaud's in Niagara Falls several times, and from their Facebook page and website, the Orlando one looks WAY better. If you think it would interest your children, I say give it a go!

As for the Orlando Eye, we really, really enjoyed it (it was much better than the smaller but very similar version in Niagara Falls). You can check out my full review, with lots of photos, here:

Thanks so much, that is what I was hoping to hear! Looking at both attractions it looked really great! I think I will put it in our planning for one afternoon! Always nice to try something different!

I did all 3 attractions about 2 weeks after they opened, booked them online for $35,I think they're now a bit higher for all 3 but even at a higher price it would be worth it.I enjoyed Madame Toussads more than I expected, the eye was also fun and I plan to do it again this time at night. The Sea Life aquarium was good but my least favorite of the three, the shark and masnta Ray aquariums at Sea World make this one look a bit unimpressive.

Thank you so much for the info, I really appreciate it! It is always nice to try the new options, I also looked at the online ticketing, think I will go that route! Thanks a mill!

WE went a couple of weeks ago and I agree with the poster who said MME. Tourssad's was very enjoyable. Just be prepared to take photos and lots of them. When I was little I went to one in Niagra Falls and it was boring because you just looked a the figures. Here you can take photos and they even have some props although I wold not recommend using hats etc...head lice is always a possibility when so many people try them on. The aquarium was very nice but I think it is geared to young children. We did not do the eye but wished we had.

Did all three events there a few weeks ago. I found it to be a lot of fun and interesting. Lots of places to eat in walking distance. Also, a few weeks ago went to Sleuths Mystery Diner. I try to go every few years. It's right next to the eye and also fun.

Thanks for the info and advice, we will try stick to wax museum and the Orlando eye.

Those museums amaze me with the realistic depiction of the wax figures. My mother went to the one in Las Vegas in 2002 and was "blown away" by how real everyone looked. I haven't been to one myself, but perhaps someday I will.

(Cool to see that MT Orlando has someone from my home state, Jim Parsons from "The Big Bang Theory".

I will be traveling to Orlando in November and would love to visit Madame Tussaud's. I was just at the one in Las Vegas in June and I have been to the ones in LA and London and loved them both. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge .Any suggestion on the safest way to get to the museum without a rental car?

Taxi.

I'd recommend listening to the 6/24 episode of the Trip podcast with JeniLynn and Teresa - they do a full review of the eye, Madame Tussaud's and the aquarium. :D
