We are thinking about doing a short WDW trip after our cruise, I was wondering what time should we expect to get to our resort if we decide to use Disney Transportation? Do they take you to the resorts and if so is there any order to what resorts they drop of people at 1st? We haven't chosen our, we have them narrowed down to BWI, AKL, CR or CSR I am just researching them all. This will also be our 1st time visiting WDW and not renting a car but after we arrive at our resort we just may rent one. Any tips or ideas will be greatly appreciated - thanks

We've always been to the resorts by 9:30-10 range, were able to get checked in and be at the parks by noon.

When we stayed at all star music I think they dropped us off last when we stayed at Polynesian dropped us off second, they hit contemporary first, then us, then off to GF.

The order of drop-offs can vary from cruise to cruise. Depending on how many people on any given bus are going to what resort. Generally, you can expect to be at your resort by 11:00-11:30 at the latest, with the typical arrival times anywhere from 9:00-10:30.

I agree with PrincessShmoo.

The debarkation process for my DCL Dream took WAY faster than I expected. We finished breakfast at 8am, left the boat by 8:15-8:20am, picked up our luggage / went through Customs by 8:45-8:50am and was on the Disney Bus Transportation by 9am. It took about 45 minutes to get to the Orlando area. We were headed to MCO....but it's pretty safe to assume that you can expect a resort arrival time ( depending on how many stops at Resorts they have to make ) sometime around 10am to 11:30am. DCL and Disney have this all down to a science.

Agree, the process is very fast. Last October we stayed at the AoA and were at the resort by about 10:30. We were checked in and at the park before noon. Have fun!

We stayed at POR last year in June after disembarking the Dream (we had second breakfast seating and took our time getting off) we were at POR by around 10:30. We reshuffled some luggage and my DD changed clothes (princesses, what can you do?) and we were at Epcot by 11:30.

If you are taking Disney transportation from the port, I would recommend trying to get on one of the smaller vans instead of the large buses if you can. We have been on the bus twice and we were walking into Epcot by 11:00 each time after we stopped and dropped others off and checked into our resort. Our last trip we were asked if we wanted to take the last 4 spots in one of the vans, and we cut about 45 minutes off our time since we only had one stop before we got to our hotel. We did not have to wait to fill up the bus and not as many stops at other hotels. We were at POR and it dropped 4 people off at the OKW first, and we were at the park at about 10:15.

We arranged Mears limo for 4 of us to take us back to the Four Seasons WDW (since they don't participate in the DCL transfers). It was very direct and quick (and the price was comparable for our family as to taking DCL transportation to a WDW resort if we had stayed there) We were off the boat as one of the last ones and we were still at the resort by 10:45. If we had been staying on WDW property, and gotten off the ship faster, we could've been in the park quite early.

If this is your first stay at WDW, have a wonderful time!!! We loved staying at the Contemporary just due to the fact that you could use the walkway to and from the hotel to the Magic Kingdom and we feel that, for us, it was perfect (more time at the park vs. commuting to and from) but depending on which park you wanted to spend the most time at, another hotel may better fit your needs. We just loved being able to walk to/from. Plus the views are really beautiful.

We did rent a car at MCO and returned it to the transportation center at WDW and it was super easy and they brought DH back to the hotel for us after drop off. Super duper easy if y'all decide to do that.

Enjoy your cruise and your WDW stay!

Thanks for all the info! We will have either 6 or 10 of us all going to the same resort, maybe we will look into other transportation but we just want to be to the park by noonish - thanks again

Well, that doesn't always work. We were put in a van, and still had 2 stops before our resort. However, we were at MK by 11:30, as I recall.

Are any tags added to your luggage when you get on the bus to ensure it arrives at your room, similar to what happens on the ship?

No. If you're using DCL transfers from port to WDW resort, you will claim your bag in the terminal, carry it through customs, and hand it off to the bus driver for loading beneath the bus. At your resort, you again claim you bags from the bus driver and (generally) immediately hand them off to a bellhop. Or take them with you to check in.

We are doing the same, sept 19th cruise, taking private limo back to Grand Floridian, I plan on laying by pool first day, but doing MNSSHP next day then Food and Wine fest before heading home next day!!! So excited!! Either way....enjoy every moment!

Thank you for the info!!

If we arrange for a limo pick up to take us to OKW does anyone know how easy it will be able to find them at the terminal. I assume they will have a sign with our name. Also, if we plan to finish breakfast by 8 and carry off our own luggage shortly after what time do you think we should arrange for pickup by the limo service?
