Has anyone ever booked a Disney trip last minute? As in maybe as soon as a week away? I know we won't be able to get the most desired fast passes or dinner reservations. However, does anyone have any good success stories? Thanks in advance!

I've planned a trip in a week. Since we go fairly often, it doesn't matter as much if I get a specific fastpass. Same with ADRs. Plus, people usually cancel before they are charged the no show fee, so it's not impossible to pick things up last minute. If there was something I had to have, I would use Disney Dining Buddy or Dining Scout.

I've booked a week out for a solo weekend last year. I was going for the Christmas stuff and didn't care about ADR's or FP+ but was still able to get all the FP I wanted including Anna and Elsa.

It was the weekend after the MK parade taping and the Christmas tree was up in MK. It was the first time I'd ever seen it - so pretty. I had a great time.

I have gone to Disneyworld with only 2 days notice and was able to get a room (military discount) and basically every dining reservation I wanted. A lot of cancellations happen last minute.

There are always cancellations. I've made last minutes drive by's. Doesn't matter if you get a room you can always snag adrs.

Following! I would like to know some tips too because we are new passholders and would like to go at the last second and not have much time to plan. I like staying on property because it is so convenient!

We haven't done it at a week, but the closest we ever did was about a month (for an august trip.) This was prior to FP+ so can't speak to that, but as far as ADR's, we actually had fairly decent luck, and that was before the current cancelation policy.

I used to work at the Disney Reservations Center. It was not unusual to get calls looking for same-day/next-day arrival. Friday evening shifts were notorious for people from South Florida calling via cell phone from the highway looking for a room for the weekend.

We booked about a month out in June. I'm a day of ADR maker most of the time, but I did make some in advance and had no issues. Now I wasn't looking for BOG or Ohana but we ate at several popular places to include via Napoli, raglan road, tusker house, and yachtsman.

On the fp front the only one we couldn't get was Anna and Elsa. We explained this to our daughter and she was good. It took a bit of FP stalking to get SDMG but did get it.

So bottom line is it is totally doable. Just remain flexible and have fun

I've never booked a room a week in advance, but I've done everything else just a couple days in advance. Went during Spring Break this past March - and got pretty much everything I wanted (as a party of 1, admittedly). Now, I wasn't willing to be a dining stalker to get BOG for breakfast or dinner, but I did get a spot at lunch.

In February myy wife and I got off a cruise in Fort Lauderdale and decided, "We should go to Disney, we have three days off work left!" So, we rented a car, changed our flights, and drove to Orlando. We stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek for two nights and had a great time. We were able to get a few fast passes, a few ADR's and it renewed our love for WDW as neither of us had been in almost 10 years.

Booked a same day at the Swan this past November 1. The deciding factor was I was able to snag an 'Ohana reservation for 6pm that day! Even had a great AAA rate of <$200 per night during Food & Wine so it was perfect :) Enjoy!
