Cabana Bay Lazy River Floats

Just have to say how ridiculous that seems - you have to *purchase* floats for the lazy river and store them in your room yourself?! Wow, talk about nickeling and diming... I would really expect tubes to be provided at a water park like attraction like that. Are the towels provided for free at least? Geez. :confused3

Well, you can always bring your own, if you don't want to purchase them there. Or, as others have said, you don't need a floatie to enjoy the lazy river. Cabana Bay is an exceptionally reasonably-priced resort with a lot of VERY cool features. Do you also expect them to let you bowl for free at the bowling alley?

I think I read somewhere that it was an issue of sanitation? Perhaps you can't sanitize the cheaper floaties?

Are you allowed to take a drink on your float in the lazy river? I noticed some of the inflatables have a drink holder.

I'm not sure, but I think I recall someone carrying (closed top) their drink with them. They are allowed at the edge of the other pool for sure.

The reason they don't have them for free is that they don't have a facility to clean the tubes. And at least they don't make you buy theirs, you can always bring your own, or not use a float at all.

Think of it this way - it's a lot more hygienic to use your own float anyways!

Is there any updated info on the floats? We haven't been since August '14 and they were still selling the ones you could sit in.

If we bought ones on amazon, could they get shipped to cabana bay? I don't know that I'd want to worry about packing them.

They do sell the sit on floats. I saw many people using them and thought about buying one for myself. I want to say the price was around $10, but I didn't pay much attention because we were gifted some of the plain Cabana Bay ring floats.

https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Lounge...05QIYVMY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1488560468&sr are the sit in floats they sell. Seeing that they're $18.99 on Amazon, I'm going to guess I was probably underestimating the Cabana Bay price.

I did some price checking from photos on another thread. Amazon was actually $1 more for the floats that look like the letter D. That was before shipping charges if you're not prime. I am just going to buy one at the hotel

Honestly I thought it was a fair price for the quality of tube - I paid around $12 I think for a 14 day stay totally worth it. I have stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek and paid $5 per use for a tube so I think this was a far better deal and hey you get to keep the tube if you want to and have room in your luggage. They also have life jackets and they are free. A tube is definitely not required on the lazy river.

Yes, I took my drink in the lazy river and the pool. It was in one of the closed top Cabana Bay bar drink cups though, they are definitely allowed. (Yes, I realize this is a year and a half old question, but since the thread was revived...)

I found a tube floating in the pool, asked around and no one claimed it, so used that for my time in the lazy river and pool, then gave it away to someone else. I was only in the pool one afternoon and did not want to purchase something for a few hours.
