Rooms all sold out - November 11-17?!

I had to switch my trip from September to Nov 11-17. When I went to switch the dates, the cast member checked every hotel from Value to Deluxe and said everything was sold out. Zero availability.

Could that be true?

Is that really a busy time of year? We haven't been to WDW in years, so perhaps this is possible, but not one room available in all of Disney? Wow.

Thanks,
Jeannine

You might want to try a split stay. There may not be ONE resort room available, but there may be a room available for a few days in one resort and for a few days at another resort. We are going Nov 10-17 and since the F&W festival is going on plus there was free dining, everyone seems to be staying on property. We were able to add GF for two nights to our trip, but lost a free day of dining because of that change since we couldn't find any available rooms at any of the MK resorts that weren't concierge level Nov 16-18.

You're also going to have a hell of a time finding ADRs if you were planning on going to any sit down restaurants. They are pretty sparse for dinner, lunch has been a little easier to find.

As PP mentions, it could just be a matter of one night not being available which will reject the entire search. If you're searching for a period of 7 days, it may be that night 4 is sold out and therefore it appears as if there's no availability for your whole trip which is probably not true.

FWIW, November 11th is Veteran's Day which is a Federal holiday and a busy day at WDW. Many people will extend this into a long weekend, and I believe the days preceding 11/11 are the end of Jersey Week which is also a busy time. I would suspect it's the 11th or 12th giving you hassle, if I had to guess.

Thanks for the quick replies! Yes, totally forgot about F&W. Great ideas to check for a split stay - we were going to maybe do a day or two at Universal so perhaps, as suggested, I'll check for the 11th and 12th. Thank you!!

Have you tried checking online? That way you can see what turns up with shorter stays. If you see something you like, I wouldn't wait on it. That's a busy week.

I checked on line - but for the entire stay, not for just a partial stay. Will definitely do so now!

This happened to us a couple of trips back free dining killed availability. Had to miss it till later the next year.

I personally think something is wrong with their computer system. I am trying to book Disneyland in October and it's like its sold out the entire month. Then I check November and December; same thing. I seriously doubt an entire 3 months is booked solid. Then I checked Disney World hotel prices for a week in October; availability at every hotel. I just checked again 2 hours later for the same dates and suddenly only 5 hotels are available. I guess anything is possible but I seriously doubt that many rooms were suddenly booked in the span of 2 hours. I think something is wrong.

I was able to book 3 nights, 14-17, at All Star Movies. She said to call daily to check for cancellations. And certainly could be a glitch, Princess Shea, that sounds impossible!

Def check online. I know the reservation system doesn't show the Customer Service CM day by day openings. They plug in your days and that's all that it shows. You can book most of the deals online including stays that include PIN numbers that you may have received via snail mail or email. Keep checking back day by day! People's plans change and something might open up. Good Luck!

If you still need the 11th-13th I see CSR and AKL are available online with the fall discount.

But, then you need the somewhere the night of the 13th.

AOA family suite is available with no discounts 11th-14th

Thanks everyone for your help. I was able to get every night reserved, except for the 13th - so I will have to keep trying for that. What I did learn, which you might know but I didn't, was that availability is not the same for room-only reservations vs packages. The CM who helped me explained that if I were to book a package, she would have different availability - meaning that room-only shows full/sold-out, but as a package rooms would be available. Makes sense, I guess, from Disney's perspective since packages generate more money, but not from mine.

I've been looking for 1 night at POP for our arrival night on 11/13 and have had no luck finding availability at any value or moderate for that matter for that day. Hmmm it IS Friday the 13th...coincidence or not? :confused3 :rotfl:

I did manage to find an AOA LM room about six weeks ago so I grabbed it, but still keep checking daily for other openings. I'm excited to stay at AOA, but since we don't arrive until like 8:30PM, saving a few $$ at POP would be really nice. Hoping availability will change when final payments are due for that time frame. Good luck OP! :goodvibes

I just need one night at one of the values for November 14, but I'm not finding anything through the WDW site. Expedia has availability, though. Any downsides to booking through a third party? Would I still get to use Magical Express?

Yes. No real difference, I book through orbitz all the time and they do sometimes have different availability because they could have reserved a group rate or agreement with disney. The only difference is that they "own" your reservation so you have to go through them to add things like room requests. But, they give you a disney confirmation number in addition to their own internal one so you can add to MDE like normal (you can also do online check in and magic bands - just change shipping address to your own and not expedias).
