Seating on Southwest with family of 4 - 2 kids 2 adults

After a really bad experience with my 2 year old kicking the seat in front of him, I would opt for the two rows! He really didn't mean to kick the seat, but he was very squirmy, and pushed on it as he moved around. The man in front of me said something in a foreign language and looked at me like he was going to kill me. I should have called the flight attendant. It was horrible!

When it was just 2 kids we did 2 and 2 side by side rows so we could talk more easily. Then when We had3 we started to do 3 and 2 side by side, older dd with me and my youngest because my youngest is disabled and requires extra hands and then she can assist me and my dh with my middle.

We paid for early bird on our Disney flight and still needed to be in completely different areas of the plane so we did 2 and 2 (just had our older two with us ). It was a very full flight with lots of families.

Wow, that would stink! Luckily that hasn't happened to us yet, there has always been lots of room, particularly in the back of the plane, even when the B's boarded. I do figure eventually we're going to get B even with EBCI, since we've been in the very high A's the last 2 times we've flown. As long as we can sit 2 + 2 or even 3 + 1 it's ok, beyond that either a 5 yr old or a 2 yr old would be with strangers. In my experience, when something like that happens, the flight attendants start asking for volunteers and then giving drinks or something to entice someone nice to switch. I don't really think it's feasible for that age child to not sit with a parent, nor do I think another adult would want to sit with someone else's kids that are that young. I've always seen people willing to move when it comes down to an issue like that, and not just adults preferring to sit together. Even then sometimes people will switch.

Can you blame him? It must have been extremely annoying to have his seat kicked for an entire flight. He should called a flight attendant about you.
