My little one will be 9 months when we go away. Which rides can we enjoy as a little family? I'm guessing ones like dumbo and it's a small world but would be great to hear from those that have taken babies on certain rides. He is a baby that LOVES to see everything going on and isn't scared or loud noises and bangs. Thanks all

My youngest was 9m on his first visit. It was a wonderful time. We went on:
MK - Peter Pan, Pooh ride, Dumbo, Small World, Magic Carpets, Haunted Mansion, Tiki room, Country Bears (he fell asleep for that), tea cups. Under the sea wasn't there at the time, but that would have been fine too.
Epcot - Nemo, Living with the Land, Figment, Spaceship earth, Donald Duck boat ride
AK - Triceratops spin, Nemo show, bird show

My DD was 9 months when we visited a few years ago. We only did two parks that time and didn't take her to MK (she stayed behind with Grandma) but at Epcot she went on Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Figment, and Nemo.

In MK I think you'd be fine on Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Under the Sea, Dumbo, the train, the riverboat, It's a Small World ... basically anything without a height requirement.

My son was a little older for his first Disney trip -- 12 months. His favorites were Jungle Cruise and Small World. Pooh actually scared him -- he didn't like the dark. Dumbo he was okay on as long as we didn't raise and lower our Dumbo (the slight jerkiness of the movement scared him). Oddly enough, the carousel was the scariest thing for him -- he liked "petting" the animals, but sitting on one for a ride was a no-go.

He also enjoyed our character breakfast, the shows and musical acts and just taking in the atmosphere.

We have taken our children at very young ages (DS 1st visit he was 5 weeks old, DD1 1st 4 months and DD2 1st 4 weeks old).
You can take an infant on any ride that does not have a height restriction. There are so many you won't have a problem enjoy WDW with your little family. :)
The only issue I ever had was the Carousel would not let me baby wear, we had to take the baby out and hold her in our lap on the horse. You won't have that issue as you can seat and belt your child on the horse and then stand next to them holding on.

I took DD on everything as long as there was no height restriction. She seemed to like its a small world most but enjoyed a lot of the rides!!

Enjoy

:smickey:Thanks all im even more excited!!!! I know I'm going to be an emotional mum when he goes on a carousel for the first time. I keep playing to him the evening parades on you tube and he gets so excited so I can't wait to see how he will be when we are there. Again ill be an emotional mum!!! Wish these next 9 weeks would hurry up so we can get there!!!

We took our son when he was 9 months old (our daughter was 6 1/2 at the time) and we brought him on EVERY RIDE that did not have a height restriction at WDW.

Visited MK with my 9mo and we rode:

Winnie the Pooh
Buzz light year
Peter Pan
Ariel
It's a small world
Jungle cruise
People mover
Carrousel of progress
Haunted mansion
It's a small world
Mickeys Philarmagic

She loved the rides but the clear favorite was It's a small world. She was clapping and swaying along to the music.

Anything without a height requirement, but I would avoid Toy Story Midway Mania. They don't let you keep the baby in your lap (right beside you) and my daughter kept bumping her head on the lap bar even though I had my arm firmly around her because it slings you around so quickly.

I was actually explicitly told to hold our son in my lap -- he was 3 months old -- there was no way he could have sat on his own anyway.

We took our 4 month old and we did a lot of rides in Fantasyland, except Mad Tea Party since I didn't want her to get dizzy. She had to sit on the seat next to me.
One problem was I put the baby in a onesie because it was so hot when we went. But the seat on Dumbo especially was hot so I was concerned she'd burn her legs. So, I guess have the baby wear pants on the outdoor rides.

My daughter was 18 months, so she could sit up fine, but the height for the bar was miserable. Won't be going on that one with her again until she can have a seat of her own.

Ah yes, well there is a big difference between a 3 or 9 month old versus 18 months.
