Friends seeking travel friends thread!

Hey lovely DISers! I'm heading to the world in just under 3 weeks :cool1: and wondering if anyone else was around then and fancied meeting up at all.

Name: Vicky

Age/Kids/Job: 25, no kids, Masters student for another 2 weeks then Disney CRP candidate

Location: London, England

Where/When I want to go: Sept 12 - 29th (27/28/29th at the Darkside)

What is your travel style (slow, moderate, fast paced): Fast in the mornings then slowing down and relaxed during the evenings

What are your trip finances like (budget, moderate, luxury): Moderate (but apparently uncontrolled when it comes to Disney pins)

Planned or laid back trip: All the best laid plans....that generally get thrown out the window when I'm there (other than my ADRs)

Morning or night person: I'm 25 going on 80 so I like early mornings, afternoon power naps and then go till close

Favorite parks: Can't I love them all? No? Erm.....Hollywood Studios.....no....Magic Kingdom....no Animal Kingdom.....gah!

Are you a leader or a follower:I like to lead but being British we are very polite and will always ask what you would like to do and will go with that idea :rotfl:

I have a couple of ADRs for 2 if anyone would like to join me: BOG 13/09 9.20pm, Akershus 15/09 12.25pm, Raglan Road 21/09 1.15pm
Sanaa 23/09 1.25pm, 50s Prime Time 24/09 11.35am. I also plan on hitting up F&W on the 25th

Hello everyone,

Like everyone...this thread seemed really neat and interesting! I am going Oct 28-nov 4 2015... I am doing MNSSHP on the 29th.... I am alone... No one loves to travel or loves disney like me soo going alone or meeting up with a friend a day or two...

A bit about you:

Name: Kellie

Location: Indiana

What is your travel style (slow, moderate, fast paced): I do a little of each but probably reside at moderate most of the time

What are you trip finances like (budget, moderate, luxury): I use DVC but otherwise moderate throughout

Planned or laid back trip: Little of both... Love to try and plan but I know as soon as I get anywhere those plans fly out the window

Morning or night person: I would love to go to a few rope drops but am also a night person! 25 and no kids so a lot of the families leave at night would be nice

Favorite parks: MK, HS, Epcot, AK in order

Are you a leader or a follower (i.e. okay with someone else planning and you just tag along or vice verse): I think a little of both... Would love someone or some ones who are kind of in the middle too... Not too structured

Rate these in importance (1 most important, 6 least important); Rides, food, tours, character experiences, shopping, down time: Rides-1, Food-2, Tours-6, Characters-3, Shopping-4, Downtime-5

What time of year do you most like to travel: Fall :)

Let me know if this works for anyone!

Hello, I Did my first solo trip to WDW last year. I wish I would have known about DIS last year, It would have been awesome to meet up with fellow Disney lovers.

Name: Elliott

Age/Kids/Job: 22(turning 23 during my trip this year :)), no kids, Gas Station Attendant

Location: Ohio, United States

Where/When I want to go: ASMR, Sept 20 - 26th

What is your travel style (slow, moderate, fast paced): I like to move fast in the mornings before the parks fill up, but then slow down a bit and hit the less popular attractions

What are your trip finances like (budget, moderate, luxury): Moderate

Planned or laid back trip: I plan a little bit, mostly just enough so i don't have to run across the park to my ADR's

Morning or night person: I'm a bit of both (my work scheduling requires me to be)

Favorite parks: I would say it's a tie between MK and AK

Are you a leader or a follower:I enjoy leading, but following can be just as great or better. If you are always leading you will only ever see what you are aware of.

Hi, I'm Annemarie. 37 from UK, travelling solo October 13 to 20 and looking for anyone who might be interested in taking in a park one day, meeting for a coffee or dinner some evening!

I like to get to the parks early, have an afternoon snooze then head back to see the fireworks or downtown Disney for the evening! Plan a little bit but leave room for the unexpected!

i think this is a great idea. i am new to this site, just joined today. i have been to Disney with my youngest daughter numerous times and we had great times. now she is on her own with a newborn, it will be a while before she can go again; however, i miss Disney, don't know anybody who would like to go and i have been since 2011. i would like to go the last 2 weeks of January, 1st February 2016. the reason is that it is the value season and to escape winter, the reason why going so long is that i come from far away. i am 58, but nobody gives me my age, i look a lot younger, everyone thinks i look like in my 30's. when i travel with my daughter who is now 23, everybody thinks we're sisters. i am divorced for 10 years now, i have 4 kids and 5 grand kids. i am not looking for a new relationship, just friends to share Disney with, as i love Disney. i am an early riser, so like to go at park opening, while my daughter when she was a teenager, never wanted to get up, so i used to go solo in the morning and come back at lunch to meet her. i always stay at value resorts, for the simple fact that i figure i am not there that much, only sleeping, swimming in the afternoon, etc. and the value resorts are fine with me. this way i get to spend more days at WDW. i would like to buy an AP pass, since i will be there for 3 weeks and then may be plan another trip for Oct - Nov 2016 where i would see the Christmas decorations. Favorite parks: MK and Epcot. i like to plan my trips in advance. i am a big planner with lists, etc. but opened for changes. i have been to Disney so many times, that i am opened to change. If anyone is going during that time, i would be happy to meet and spend times in the park together or be travel friends.

Who wants to hang out at the food and wine festival one evening this November!?!?! :) Nov 11-19

I'm taking my husband on a surprise WDW trip the weekend of November 13-16. I plan for us to be touring around one or more of the days/nights. But now that it is the last year for the Osbornes we might spend more night time over there and more day time in Epcot. Give me a pm if you want. Maybe we could meet up at a station or two.

Hello,
I'm happily married to a wonderful woman who I'm afraid may never visit Disney again. I tried to show her the magic that I see (7 trips in 10 years), but she just doesn't feel it and would prefer never to go again. It's not her fault, she really tried. We booked our trip in January 2016 with a couple of friends, but when they dropped out my wife admitted she really didn't want to go anymore. Thus, I'm left traveling alone to the parks from now on.

So, I would love to meet up with people so my January trip might be a little less solo. Anyone else going to be there during that time???

NAME: Foster (It's my last name, but also my nickname)

NEXT TRIP BOOKED: January 23rd - 30th, 2016

LODGING: Currently booked at Bay Lake Towers (DVC Members) 2-bedroom condo, but will be scaling back that reservation soon since it's just me. Might move to Poly or SSR.

ABOUT ME: Married 19 years to a my wonderful bride. No kids, but have an Aussie Shepherd mix. I'm a database developer and former screenwriter / instructor. I've loved Disney since I was a child and never got over it. I hope I never do. I'm low key, like almost everyone I meet and love photography when I travel.

LOCATION: Colorado, US

TRAVEL STYLE: I like a mix. A fast paced day hitting the attractions is fun. Especially when it's followed by a slow day taking photos, bike riding, or just people watching.

TRIP FINANCES: Moderate or Luxury

PLANNED OR LAID BACK TRIP: Plan the things you need to (Dining, Fastpasses, etc.), but always blocks of time to be flexible

MORNING OR NIGHT PERSON: Bit of both

FAVORITE PARKS: MK & EPCOT, but love them all

LEADER OR FOLLOWER: Former leader learning to be a better follower, and enjoying it :)

Aw man! You'll be there when it's my birthday and BLT is my favorite resort!! So jealous. If there's any way I can swing a trip then, I'll be sure to let you know. But probably not very likely as I'm currently getting divorced. It's a bummer your wife doesn't share your love of Disney, but at least she gave it a try! Going solo can be a lot of fun, though!

Hey there! Welcome, I'm a newbie here myself. Currently planning a trip the last week of January through first week of February...staying at SSR. (The only resort I've ever stayed at because of its proximity to Disney Springs.) Love going solo, it's the best to not feel the pressure of trying to make sure others have fun too.
