we are thinking about booking either T. rex or rain forest cafe. We haven't been to either and can't decide which one, opinions please :scratchin

We prefer Rain forest had a bad experince at T rex poor service dreadful food but that was just 1 visit.

We have been to T-Rex twice and Rain Forest at both Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney, and we prefer T-Rex. The food is pretty much the same. My kids like the dinosaurs better. They are scared at first, then start laughing when they make noise.

Mmmm very similar food not a great deal in it but we prefer T-Rex still overall, we just always get a poor table and service at RF so that might be swaying my call..

I'd go with T-rex. We have a rainforest cafe in London but as far as I know there isn't a T-rex in the UK so its a good time to try it out.

Similar food at both i'd go with which theme you prefer. If you are eating here it is worth getting a landrys card (these restaurants are part of landrys group also includes bubba gump and yak and yeti) it costs $25 but that is credited to the card. Plus they add $25 bonus for your birthday month (tip have your birthday same month as your holiday) Plus the card gives you vip seating so no long wait for a table.

T-Rex for definite. We have been to RC about 5 times, T-Rex just once on our last visit and we probably will never go RC ever again other than possibly for breakfast. The food and service were superb in T-Rex, could not fault it.

I was not particularly looking forward to it either, I expected the food to be identical to RC, but it was so much nicer imo.

I'd go with T-Rex because it is slightly more unique. As others have said, the food is pretty much the same.
I would request not to sit in the "ice cave" section though - it's headache inducing!

It really depends on what you want. The dinosaurs at T. rex are a bit more well suited for a younger audience while RFC is a bit more serious while still entertaining to kids. Food is better at T. rex just slightly. They're both great, however as others have said T. rex has only two locations worldwide if you want the unique experience. My overall opinion: Why not both?

I have been to both and love them! The food is good at both, lots of choices. Take a look at the menus and see if there is something you would prefer, one over the other. I love the Dino bites, warm donut holes with dipping sauce.....delicious! I wouldn't be disappointed at either. Both places are very loud! But the theming is fun!

We did T-Rex for the first time last year (see trip report) and the themeing was good but the food was average and we felt very crowded and cramped.Other than a cottontini for DW we all preferred RF. It depends if you have kids with you. Would they prefer jungle animals or dinosaurs ? There really isn't a lot to choose between the two restaurants otherwise.

Thanks everyone, we did have planet holywood planned however the kids are not bothered about it and not sure how good the food is are speaking to a friend who has been recently, so we decided to reconsider and look at these two restaurants. The kids areesiy pleased. We have been attempting to do an ADR but we are not able to due to being close to the date now. It will also be the day after our ds 7th birthday. How easy is it to get a table without an ADR?

we have been to both and love T-Rex also a hint if you join Laundry club yes it cost $25 but you get a credit of $25 towards your meal and you also get a $25 birthday credit too. To top it off you don't need a reservation just walk up show them your membership card and your next on the list just that easy.
