*I'm Back!* We're getting married..at Disney World!!! Jeff & Kathy's PJ! UPDATE: Let's Party! (9/18)

It's Planning Session day! Part 3

We rested up in the room before my dad finally got antsy (he’s doesn’t like sitting and doing nothing for long) and decided we should head over to the Boardwalk for our tasting. Jeff decided to change his clothes just a bit before the tasting. I think he was actually pretty smart, he changed into gym shorts.

We arrived a little early, and Carol wasn’t even there yet :lmao: My dad doesn’t like to arrive late anywhere, and typically for him late would be arriving right on time, so we are usually a bit early. We started to look around a bit and I took a few pictures.

About 5 minutes later Carol showed up, and was a little surprised to see us. She checked to see if they were ready for us and they were! So she lead the way to the room we would be doing our tasting in!

We walked in the room and they were finishing setting up the food for us. Our server, I wish I could remember his name, asked us what we would like to drink.

We sat and talked amongst ourselves for a few minutes. Carol also pointed out the different napkin folds that were available on the table. Although with the colored napkins that we chose, there was really only one option. The white napkins are the only ones that starch enough to fold like this one.

After a few minutes, Chef Redgie had all the food ready for us. He brought us up and told us about each of the offerings we would be trying.

carve to order black pepper crusted strip loin of beef with a mushroom marsala sauce on the side.

mini cuban sandwiches

baked mac n cheese

pork with a mango & caramelized onion chutney, green beans, and a yellow rice mix

oven-roasted baked chicken stuffed with prosciutto, spinach, and fontina cheese, honey glazed carrots, and cream cheese mashed potatoes from Le Cellier

Almond Crusted Cheesecake from Narcoosees

We all started filling our plates!

Everything was sooo good! We felt a little bad, Redgie kept asking us to be critical but we didn’t really have much bad to say about anything. At first, my dad and sister weren’t too excited about the chicken. I mean, chicken is chicken right? They were totally blown away by the flavors. The spinach, prosciutto, and cheese really added to the chicken, and the chicken itself was cooked perfectly.

One of our favorite things was the mac n cheese! It was soooo good, Jeff went back for even more! In fact, we still talk about it now and can’t wait to have it in a few months! The beef was cooked perfectly for us, we like medium-medium rare beef so we were perfectly happy. We decided to add a horseradish sauce, and an herb butter sauce on the side for people to add to their beef if they would like.

We also loved the green beans and carrots. I especially loved the carrots. I think I could have eaten a whole plate of those! The honey glaze on them just added a hint of sweetness to them that was fantastic. I also loved the mashed potatoes! I love mashed potatoes period and those were perfect with the chicken and the beef.

The pork was delicious with the chutney on top and worked well with the rice. We decided we didn’t want the rice with it though. And lastly, one of my favorite thing...the cheesecake! I put this on the tasting menu because I really wanted Jeff to try it. Besides peanut butter desserts, Jeff’s favorite dessert is cheesecake, so I wanted to see what he thought of this one. Well, he thought it was delicious!! It was soo good. We were so full from food that I wasn’t able to finish my piece, but Jeff went ahead and finished it for me. In fact, he was pretty sad Mary let the waiter take the rest of hers so he couldn’t finish is too!

So here is our final menu

Cocktail hour

  • mini cuban sandwiches
  • beef skewers with chimichurri sauce
  • antipasto display with cured meats, gourmet cheese, marinated veggies, crackers and bread
Buffet
  • Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad
  • Mixed Green Salad
  • Tomatoes with fresh mozzarella with basil, olive oil, sea salt, and cracked black pepper
  • White Cheddar Baked Mac n Cheese
  • Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes (without the skin)
  • Honey Glazed Carrots and Green Beans
  • Oven-baked Marinated Pork Loin with Mango & Caramelized Onion Chutney
  • Oven-roasted Baked Chicken Stuffed with Prosciutto, Spinach, and Fontina Cheese
  • Carved to Order: Black Pepper-crusted Strip Loin of Beef with Creamy Horseradish Sauce, & Mushroom Marsala & Herb Butter Sauce on the side
We will also have several kids so there will be a kids plate with Mickey-roni and cheese, chicken tenders, fries, and corn with a dirt pot pie dessert. After setting our menu, we sat and talking for a while, just getting to know each other even more. It was so much fun getting to know Carol! It has made us all even more excited for the big day. She is truly fantastic!

Before we left, Chef Redgie was so sweet and gave us a couple little gifts

He gave us a whisk and some heart cookie cutters. They are super cute! He also gave each of us rice krispy treat mickeys. Unfortunately, we forgot to take a picture of them. Jeff ate his before we left to come home, while the rest of us packed them in our bags. Sadly they ended up melting in the hot car. They still tasted really good, they looked like a hot mess when we got home so I didn’t take a picture of them. After Redgie gave us his gifts, Carol gave me hers.

She told me these were very new pins. She said all the planners want one but they have been told they have to give them to the brides :rotfl2: Then it was time to say our good byes until October. We were walking out but I decided to go to the bathroom first. Luckily Carol was going back to the room to talk to Redgie, and I was able to talk to her alone for a minute. I had a surprise I wanted to add for DF. I asked if she could have them add something to the cake. Here is kind of what I was thinking.

I saw this idea on pinterest and immediately wanted to do this for Jeff. Instead of Spiderman, I wanted a soccer ball. She really liked this idea and said she would talk to the cake artist. I emailed her the picture I showed her. A little while later I received an email from her with an image of the soccer ball the cake artist already had to see if the size was alright. It was perfect! I can’t wait until we go look at the cake and Jeff see’s it :)

And with that, our wedding was all planned! It was so weird to be all the sudden have everything planned! We have a couple things up our sleeves for the wedding that I don't want to post on here in case family is reading. So you'll just have to follow along and see what they are ;)

After I was done, we walked outside and decided to head back to the resort. We had planned on going straight to Epcot after but the sky was very dark and we figured it would rain, so we thought we would wait out the rain in our room.

I love the chocolate name tags! Those are seriously so cute!

And the #mickeypantswedding amuses me :) Your choices sound like they're going to come together beautifully!

Holy cow, that is quite the spread! Everything looks delicious! And I love the special touch for your hubby - I am sure he will love it!

There will be some crystals with of course a hidden Mickey!

That's so amazing that you can even get Mickeys in your flowers!!!

I think it will look great in pictures!

Parasols will make your pictures so unique...I love it!!

My lovely sister chimmed in and says “There are 35 rides in Disney World so we’re good”.

Too funny. I think a few jaws would drop if anyone knew a fact like that in my house too.

we’ve just been to so many weddings where they have given us something that wasn’t and it usually ends up sitting in a drawer and eventually getting thrown out.

I couldn't agree more. I hate junky stuff that you have to take home.

late would be arriving right on time, so we are usually a bit early.

I am so with him. Hate when people are late.

different napkin folds that were available on the table.

That's insane how much they pay attention to details...even being able to choose napkin folds!!

One of our favorite things was the mac n cheese! It was soooo good,

Yum...sounds delish!

I can’t wait until we go look at the cake and Jeff see’s it

That is such a cute idea!! You really have thought of everything!!

I love all your plans and YUM your menu!!! That's simply mouthwatering! Isn't it a funny feeling to realize that you've planne your wedding all in a few hours?

I love the soccer ball idea! I can't wait to see his face when he sees it on the cake.

Your menu looks great, and I love the soccer ball surprise you added to your cake.

And... MUST HAVE DFTW PIN! Haha. I wonder if they would sell me one?

YES THE PIN!! I forgot to comment (I wrote the above pre-coffee hahaha). We only collect pins of special milestones in our Disney lives soooooooo I kind of need that one. So jealous!

Can I come to your wedding please please please???? Just for the food! LOL....no, I'm kidding.
You just made me extremely hungry reading your post. I'm doing an Escape, so it's probably a good thing, because I wouldn't be able to choose what food to feed everyone. That Mushroom Marsala sauce sounds delish!

I love your hidden "mickey-soccer ball" idea for your DF! That's too cute! He's going to love the little details.

Awesome that everything is planned! I absolutely love the cake idea, it's very cute!

You're going to have such a wonderful day!

Yay, Sarah is our florist too! We're actually having similar centerpieces. Everything you've planned so far looks awesome. It's so cool how everything really comes together during the planning session.

I loved Sarah! She was great! Thanks! I'm really excited about everything we have planned, I can't wait for October 10th! It's crazy how all the sudden, 1 day, your whole day is pretty much planned!

So flippin' exciting!!!! It's going to be here before you know it!

I am so excited! It really will be, we're almost at exactly 2 months out! I can't wait! But theres still stuff to get done!

I love the chocolate name tags! Those are seriously so cute!

And the #mickeypantswedding amuses me :) Your choices sound like they're going to come together beautifully!

DF did a good job picking out the chocolate name tags :) so proud of him haha. #mickeypantswedding amuses me too, no one else will have it for sure!

Holy cow, that is quite the spread! Everything looks delicious! And I love the special touch for your hubby - I am sure he will love it!

I am so excited for our food choices! I am ready to eat them all now! We talk about our choices all the time, everyone is definitely excited for the mac n cheese. I really hope he'll love the special touch :) He is like obsessed with soccer!

That's so amazing that you can even get Mickeys in your flowers!!!

Oh yeah Disney will do anything ;) haha. I love the parasols, I know Carol will make sure they look perfect for pictures!

The best part about the fact that Mary rattled off is she didn't miss a beat! She knew it right away!

I am so excited about all of our choices :) I can't wait for DF to see the cake :)

I love all your plans and YUM your menu!!! That's simply mouthwatering! Isn't it a funny feeling to realize that you've planne your wedding all in a few hours?

I love the soccer ball idea! I can't wait to see his face when he sees it on the cake.

Thank you :) we are definitely excited about our menu, we talk about it often! It's a very odd feeling to say that our wedding is planned in 1 day!

I can't wait till he see's it either :) I think he'll love it...I hope he'll love it

Thank you! I love our food! Haha I love the pin too! I don't collect the pin's except for special ones like that one! You could always try! Maybe try smoozing your planner :rotfl:

I agree!! We only collect the special ones, and this one is very special! Like I told Seia, maybe try smoozing your planner haha

Haha! If your in the area we could probably sneak you in for some food! It was hard to choose what we wanted, there were so many things that sounded good. We love our choices though, if people leave hungry it will be their own fault!

Awesome that everything is planned! I absolutely love the cake idea, it's very cute!

You're going to have such a wonderful day!

Thank you :) I love everything we have planned! I can't wait for the day to be here!

It’s Planning Session Day! Part 4

We spent a bit of time in the room waiting out the rain….that never came! We thought for sure it would rain because the sky was very dark, but it never really started raining. So seeing as it wasn’t raining, we decided to make our way to Epcot. We started walking over to the TTC, and of course it started raining then. Luckily it wasn’t raining very hard, and we were getting on a monorail. We had a few fastpasses to use so we headed for our first one.

We aren’t usually into meeting the characters, but we had a throw away fastpass for it and Mary decided she wanted to go. It was fun to get our picture with the gang, but isn’t something we’ll seek out

Goofy decided he wanted to escort me away from Mickey and over to his meet and greet...away from Jeff. He made us separate.

And of course gotta love Minnie! I just LOVE her bow! After seeing the gang, we decided to head across the way to where Captain EO usually is for a special treat!

They were showing about 10 minutes of Inside Out before it came out. We walked in and they were just about to open the doors to watch the clip. Sadly, we missed the pre movie talking about I’m assuming, the making of Inside Out. But that’s ok, we got to see the 10 minute clip which made me want to see the movie even more!

I can’t remember for sure where we went next, it was either Soarin, then Finding Nemo or the other way around. Either way we stopped to watch some friends in the water after Nemo

It was pretty cool, we saw a large group of people inside the tanks. I overheard a few people saying it was someone’s birthday present. I was surprised how many people there were.

After spending some time in Future World, we decided to make our way into the World Showcase. Mary and I had our minds set on something we needed to get. And luckily, the boys were willing to share!

We stopped here on a previous trip, but wanted to come back and try some different margaritas. When we arrived there was a small line, but nothing like I’ve seen it before.

While we waited, we overheard a bartender tell someone that one of the bottles of tequila on this shelf costs $250 a shot! A SHOT! That better be some good tequila! We waited just a few minutes before a bartender was serving us.

Jeff and I decided to share the horchata margarita. It looks like this one is no longer on the menu so I’m not exactly sure what all is in it but I believe it has tequila, fireball, and ‘orchata rum in addition to agave, agua de horchata, topped with cinnamon. I thought this was very good, tasted a bit like cinnamon toast crunch. It has a very similar flavor to the Polynesian Pearl at Trader Sam’s.

My dad and Mary decided to share the disboards famous avocado margarita. El Mayor premium silver Tequila, melon liqueur, fresh avocado, agave nectar and fresh lime juice, served frozen with a hibiscus Himalayan salt rim. They both really enjoyed this, I tried a sip and it was surprisingly good. The melon and avocado worked really well together, and the hibiscus salt rim added another level to the margarita.

We sat outside the pyramid and enjoyed our drinks for a little bit before continuing our stroll around the world showcase. We worked our way around to our next stop.

I LOVE caramel so this is always a must stop for me. The line here was quite a bit longer than at La Cava, we waited for probably about 20-25 minutes. None of us were hungry yet, but we knew we wanted to get a few things.

Jeff chose a chocolate caramel cookie, I chose a milk chocolate salted caramel square, and my dad chose and milk chocolate pecan cluster. After making our purchase, we worked our way around the WS. Jeff wanted to do a bit of shopping in the UK so while he shopped, we went grabbed some beverages to enjoy while we enjoyed Illuminations.

Mary chose a half and half, which is guiness and harp, while my dad, Jeff, and I had strongbow. Jeff and I shared as we were both still feeling rather full. Jeff ended up getting an Arsenal jersey in the shop, he’s a big soccer fan. Once he was finished, we made our way to Canada where we usually watch Illuminations but we were having no luck finding a spot, so we found a little spot by the UK.

We have been here many times during F&W and are not afraid to use the top of a garbage can as a table :rotfl2: Tonight was evening EMH at Epcot and Mary and I knew exactly where we wanted to go!

The ice cream here is just so good, we knew we had to stop! Jeff decided to pass on ice cream, but the rest of us enjoyed a small scoop as our “dinner”

My dad and I both enjoyed the cinnamon caramelized apple & crumble crunch. I had this the last time and LOVED it! It has just the right sweetness to it without being overly sweet and those crunch pieces are so good! Mary enjoyed the lemon with crispy meringue. She is a big lemon fan so this was right up her alley. Jeff decided to eat his cookie while we ate our ice cream. We decided to make one last quick stop before making our way out of the park.

This stop was not for eating now, we decided to grab some pastries for us to eat the next morning! Everything here just looks so good it was hard to decide! We made our picks and headed back to the resort for bed, we’d had a long busy day!

Wow, it all looks so good! Smart idea about getting pastries for the next morning - we may have to do that when we are there! Great update.

Finally commenting, and wow your food looks amazing! I love seeing all the planning details. I'm engaged too, but have to settle for incorporating as many Disney details at my local wedding and living vicariously through the planning journals on here!

Thanks! It was all so good, we can't wait to eat it again in a little over a month! I like getting pastries from France, their always so good and you can get something different that you wouldn't normally get at the resort quick service.

Thank you! I'm so glad you commented. I'm sure you're local wedding with Disney details will be amazing!

Yummmm, avocado margaritas are the best!

I was a bit afraid of trying the avocado margarita, I'm not sure why because I do like avocados. But it was soo good! Would definitely get it again!

Hair and Make up Trial!

This morning I had planned my hair and make-up trial, so the others would be on their own for the day. My appointment was from 9-11 so there wasn’t much of a hurry to get ready. My dad woke up and went for a run, and my sister met up with him so get some coffee.

http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/m... Session/Disney 2015 214_zpsrwyiaz5y.jpg.html
They had done this every day. Apparently you can get the Kona press pot coffee at the Kona Island, the little coffee stand right outside Kona. We have always stopped here for coffee (for them) and tea (for me) as they never liked the nescafe coffee. This is the first time they have gotten the press pot. It fit perfectly in 2 to go cups, with room for milk or cream. This was definitely a good find for them...and good for any coffee fans out there to know ;)

Once they came back to the room, they went on the balcony to relax a bit. Funny story, we have stayed in this longhouse many times before, usually with a lagoon view. This trip we decided to save those point and just picked a garden view. This TOTALLY messed us up the whole trip! We were constantly turning the wrong way out of the room! It was a big sad, but Jeff found it hilarious the entire time! But while they relaxed on the balcony, my dad and sister enjoyed some breakfast.

http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/m... Session/Disney 2015 214_zpsrwyiaz5y.jpg.html

There was a chocolate brioche, and a couple chocolate croissants. Mary had the brioche, my dad and Jeff both had a croissant. These were both very good. The chocolate croissants from France are very good, not great but better than you can find elsewhere in the parks. I believe I enjoyed a strawberry tart that we forgot to put in the fridge the night before. Whoops! I forgot to take a picture before I dug in but it was yummy!! I love strawberries!

After finishing breakfast, we cleaned up the room a bit. We put the pullout back into a couch to make more room for my hairdresser to move around. Not long after there was a knock on the door! I can’t remember her name but she was very nice, and will be the one doing my hair on the wedding day. She started with my hair, this is the inspiration photo I showed her.

I asked her if she could move the bun to the side instead of in the back. I really like how it turned out!

Next up was the make up. I didn’t really know what I wanted in terms of make up, just something natural looking. This is what she came up with!

I really like it. I’m not sure about the lipstick though, I might want to go a bit lighter. Thats a pretty easy change even day of. I had wanted her to change my hair so Jeff wouldn’t see it, but as she was doing my hair and make up she was telling me they had a HUGE wedding they were doing after me. It was also just at 11 so I didn’t ask about it. Not a big deal, Jeff doesn’t care about the hair and make up part haha. While I was doing all this, the others were enjoying some time with animals!

Once my hairdresser got all cleaned up and left, it was time for me to head to AK to meet up with them! I changed real quick because I knew it would be hot out and headed straight for the bus stop. I got real lucky and my bus was the first one to pull up!

When we pulled up to Grand Floridian, 2 more people got on so I was no longer alone :( We headed straight for AK. Jeff was texting me that they got stuck on Kilimanjaro Safari! Another truck broke down in front of them that had to get towed to the drop off location. Luckily they weren’t stuck too long. I finally arrived!

Here are a few hair pictures my sister took!

We decided to meet up at Festival of the Lion King, I just LOVE this show! It is one of my all time favorites. We got in line right before they were about to open the doors, so instead of making us walk all the way through the queue, they told us to wait and opened up the ropes once the line started moving. We chose to sit in the lion section this time. After the show, we headed over to Dinosaur. Mary used to work on this ride so its always a must for us!

Then, I wanted to try to take a spin on Everest. So we headed over and decided to wait in the single rider line. My dad, sister, and Jeff had already been once and after 1 ride, we don’t care if we sit together. I think we waited maybe 5 minutes before it was time for our expedition to take off!

Once we found our yeti and made it out alive, we were starting to get hungry but nothing at AK appealed to us. Our favorite AK food stop is Flame Tree BBQ and it was still closed. So we decided to head to MK for some food. We always find it easiest to drive to AK so we headed for the car! We parked back at the Poly and took the monorail to MK. As we were driving we decided what we wanted to eat, and ended up splitting up. Mary decided she wanted to head over to Columbia Harbour House.

She chose the Anchors Aweigh sandwich. They weren’t very busy, and she was able to go ahead of the group in front of her as they didn’t know what they wanted yet. Her food came up rather quickly, and she decided to just walk over to meet us to eat. The rest of us decided we wanted burgers. So we headed to Pecos Bills.

All three of us chose the same thing, the bacon cheese burger. And of course we went up to the toppings bar and got some cheese (RIP cheese sauce)! I think my dad may have put mushrooms and/or onions on his, but I went with just ketchup...I’m boring like that haha!

Mary really enjoyed her Anchors Aweigh, she said the chips were a tad overcooked but still good. She has had this sandwich before and really enjoys it as a different park food option. As for our burgers, they were good Disney burgers. Nothing special but it was what sounded good to me so it definitely hit the spot. We all ate just enough food, as Mary and I had a plan for dessert! So we headed for our next destination.

There was a particular treat we had been wanting to get for a while now. It has become somewhat of a running joke between Mary, Jeff, and I. You see, there is this ADORABLE mini kitchen sink you can get at The Plaza ice cream, and I believe at Beaches and Cream.

Who could not want this little cutie!! We had been talking about getting one for a few months and were excited to finally enjoy one while sitting on the hub grass :) While waiting in line, we debated back and forth what to get. We went back and forth several times lol. My dad decided he wanted the All-American Sundae.

This was a scoop of chocolate ice cream, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, hot fudge, whipped cream and topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips. Mary decided to share this sundae with him and they asked for 2 scoops of vanilla, instead of the scoop of chocolate. Jeff and I ended up sharing the mickey pants sundae.

We chose vanilla and birthday cake ice cream, with hot fudge, caramel and whipped cream. The girl putting our sundaes together asked if we wanted the peanut butter and chocolate chips so we said sure. How cute that she made a Mickey head out of not only the whipped cream but the cherries as well! We got our sundaes and took them over to the hub grass!

Both of these sundaes were very good! How can you go wrong with hot fudge and peanut butter or hot fudge and caramel!?! And the Mickey Pants sundae was just enough for 2 to share since it’s only 2 scoops of ice cream. And we really enjoyed the hub grass. We found a small shaded spot and watched a little boy run around enjoying the grass. It was definitely a good place to relax in the middle of the magic :) After we finished up our treats, we decided to head back to resort for a bit.

You are going to have a beautiful wedding! I love everything you have planned. Did you notice on your engagement picture, the one with the ring on the berries, that three of the berries sort of form an upside down Mickey? Maybe that's a stretch, but I thought it was kind of fun.

Your hair and makeup trial turned out beautifully!! The hair is especially stunning. I love the Mickey Pants sundae. :) We got one on our PS trip too, and the bowl is now my candy dish in my office. Haha.

Pants on the hub grass! Glad you finally got your treat! And I love the hair and makeup trial!
