Be honest - I have no shot do I?

We after returning from our July trip to go back December 1-5 for our son's 16th birthday. He has been wanting to do a Backstage tour for as long as I can remember! :cloud9: We were able to get a standard 1 Bedroom at Kidani. I am currently on a WL for Lake or Standard view at BLT. Is there any chance it will come through? We want to fit in as much as we can, I am just worried we will spend so much time going between parks and the resort. I keep watching car rental prices, and if they come down, maybe that will make me feel better being so far away from the parks. In July we we had a car for the majority of our trip, but one of the days our wait for a MK bus at BWV was 40 minutes. The line was huge! Anyway, I just was wondering with the construction going on at WLV and talks about DVC offering to move Guests, that there would be no chance of something opening up. I check hourly. Yes...I'm obsessed. :o

If you don't mind walking, next time you stay at BWV, walk through Epcot to the monorail. We do it all the time as we hate the busses and usually make it in about 20 minutes...with a double stroller.

Sorry I am not sure about the answer to your main question.

I think Standard view is unlikely but you never know. There are often cancellations.

For the car rental, look at the Dec car rental thread on the transportation board and you'll get a heads up when prices come down. It will most likely happen in late Oct or early Nov and might even be just a few days before your trip. Lastly, bus service at AKL/AKV is dedicated and we've had no complaints. Kidani is a location that has had monitors showing bus wait times for a few years. Sometimes it's just easier when you know when to expect them vs peering at each one pulling in and hoping it's yours. Kind of the watched pot never boils. ;)

I personally would change the standard wait list to WLV a..if they are moving lots of people you may luck out...I think that's more of a better gamble than standard BLT.

I can't speak to the chances of your waitlist coming through, but wanted to let you know that we stayed at AKV last December and had no problems with bus transportation. At most we waited 10-15 minutes at the resort or parks, and often it was much less than that. We did have a car, but didn't use it at all as the bus transportation was very convenient. Good luck!

Don't give up! I booked OKW for the last week in Sept. and then decided I wanted walking distance to F&W and decided on BCV because BWV had zero nights. I booked Sunday and Monday night on points and made a cash reservation for Saturday, Tuesday, and Wed nights through Member Services. First came the email stating that Sat. night was booked on points( 1st night of F&W) and then each of the other nights were available. I booked this the 2nd or 3rd week of June and all of the waitlist rooms came through week before last. I did not think I had a chance of getting any of the nights much less 3 of them!

Likely not very much chance as an all in one reservation but if you have enough points to do a day at a time while holding what you have, you'd have a much better chance of success.
