Indiana Jones ride rumor at DHS

Everything except for ToT, RnRc, TSMM, Startours, and GMR are on the table be close.

Does that mean the beauty and beast show will eventually close?? (or do you think it may just get theme into a different show?) and what about Fantasmic?? I know I am in the minority but that is my favorite nighttime show.

Also do you think there is anyway they will just retheme Honey I shrunk the kids playground area. These areas are great for kids to have some down time. I wish every park had an area like this one and the boneyard.

Low side? 2.8 billion for infrastructure, pixar and star wars is a lot of money. The DCA redo cost 1.1-1.2 billion and that brought a lot of help to that park. 2.8 will go much farther than that.
The "redo" @ DCA mostly consisted of demolishing and building out Cars Land (between one-fifth and one-sixth of the available footprint of the park), and then another $400 million scattered throughout the park. The overhaul that DHS needs is on an entirely different magnitude of scale. Might have to even cut into those million dollar bonuses the execs are getting for a quarter or two.

Fantasmic should be safe. There's a lot of infrastructure in there, it doesn't really interfere with the area of the park that is being overhauled, and overall, it's still a pretty popular night-time show that takes some pressure off of MK in the night. Not to say that they recently replaced the projectors, lasers and firework launchers, which they wouldn't if the show was on the chopping block.

No not necessarily but those five things I listed are staying for sure. The rest is up in the air.

Exactly that's why the DHS redo is 1.6 billion more than the DCA redo. I still don't see how that is not enough money.

The show could still possibly get more upgrades as well.

I would like to see the Disneyland Paris Indy Coaster come to WDW. I think the space where the Indy Stunt show is now would be adequate.

Indy is very unlikely to be part of the DHS expansion. DHS is getting 2.8 billion, now that also includes infrastructure for parking garages and other enhancements.

Carsland did not cost 1.1 billion that was the cost of the total DCA redo not including TSMM or WoC.

Avatar is closer to 700 million.
New roads and parking garages can be pretty expensive. I wonder if these will be like the one in Downtown Disney with the lights and all?

The ones at Downtown Disney are costing around $50 million each so that is still a small fraction of the $2.8 billion number being talked about for DHS. When compared to rides and other attractions, roads and parking garages are pretty cheap since the are not unique things that have never been built before.

... and I think GMR is only safe short term. There have been plenty of rumors that it might change to something else once the TCM deal expires.

How long is the deal for? I have a ton of respect for TCM so I'd be sad to see them not continue to take part.

Not sure when the deal ends that date hasn't been thrown around because most of the rumors and plans for GMR stopped when they stepped in and sponsored it.

Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland did come before Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom. So which one is a version of which one? Just saying.... ;)

Indiana Jones Adventure is from 1995. The film "Dinosaur" didn't even come out until 2000, with the ride following.

In think many here are all various degrees of right.

The DCA overhaul was 5 years of stagger openings and construction. DHS will be under construction until ~2020 with new sections opening as they can every (18 months or so). I'm sure the big deadline is to be done by the 50th on 2021. Universal's growth hasn't hurt WDW in the least, WDW attendance and profit (and Disney stock) are at an all-time high.

I also agree that if they are going to spend $$$$ to build a Indiana Jones, there isn't much "debut" appeal to offer a sometime that people have been riding for 20 years.

That ride is a short and boring steel twister which IMHO isn't really up to Disney standards (little theming, almost feels like a six flags experience).

I have been on both Dinosaur and Indiana Jones many times. Trust me, I never feel like I am on Dinosaur while riding IJ. I think it would be a great addition to DHS.

IJ is by far a much better and high quality ride experience then Dinosaur. Quite honestly, one of the best reasons to visit DL.
